Personly I feel that pornography in the name of profit is an avoidable form of exploitation that we Marxists and Anarchists should boycott in the objective state of capitalism. So many actors and actresses go into the porn industry because they can't find work elsewhere.

If people decide to make home movies or take photos of themselves and others(with consent ofcourse) doing pornographic acts for the enjoyment of others without a means for profit thats a different case altogether.

However, I find porn quite useless, imagination makes better lovers after all.

When a new working-class society is formed, its not a question if porn is useless, but if people will actually still produce it.

I am amazed at the hypocrisy and contradictment of some people.

Too often I see "well, I am a pacifist, but DIE US SOLDIERS!"

No, if you want them to die, you're not a pacifist. You don't think porn is sexist if you whack off to "hanky panky". Just come out and say that you don't think it's that harmful to anyone involved.

I whack off to porn all the time.

Mostly, it's not because they "couldn't get any other work", it's because they are women (or men) who love doing that type of stuff and they get paid for it. They aren't victims at all. Rather, I'd say the people who PAY for porn are the ones getting screwed (excuse the pun).

Pornography is a difficult subject. I agree with your primary premises. It is exploitation, but no less than any other exploitation. Its a form of wage slavery on the scale of all other wage slavery. The means to survive. Nevertheless, porn has a much deeper root than simply exploitation of the workers. Its a complete falsification of the act, and of the imagery. That is a dangerous combination. When the porn industry imposes imagery over reality, and imposes illusions on the viewer, the viewer receives a false impression, and then expects and further imposes that impression. That is very harmful.

Making condoms in a factory, is explotation, should we boycott using condoms? I think not.
Like pornography, condoms and other things created by explotation serve uses in society. Perhaps pornography serves to keep a man/woman from 'playing away from home' and generally keeping males/females satisfied sexually, not with society.
People are exploited working in farms and food processing factories, doesn't mean we dont need food.
Sexism, yes, its rich in it. It can act to degrade both genders, though the majorty of porn is based around females. I don't think people have to go into pornography to make a living, theres lots of other available jobs and if I wanted to go into porn I wouldn't even know how to - its more something you have to seek out unlike a factory/shop based job which are commonly available. I think they go into the business of their own freewill. Something they enjoy doing and get paid for. I would think porn/movies/tv shows, give alot less alienation than other types of work.
It is quite a difficult subject.
I have a girlfriend, I occassionally look at 'naughty' pics and videos over the internet. I don't particularly think theres anything wrong with that. Its not like I'm spying on a couple having sex or anything, that would be wrong, but I just watching what has been created for that purpose, if you see what I mean. Its easy to argue that its sexist, however the actors/producers/filmers/etc must not think of that as a big issue, otherwise they wouldn't be creating it. Its like casinos, alcohol and such, not necessarily accepted by society, but people enjoy them and its a private decision whether or not to use them.
