Another member of the board and I have been having a little debate, and I wanted to see how the rest of you RevLefters feel about the issue.

the main question is:

How do you think democracy will manifest in post-revolutionary times?

Do you think direct democracy is impractical? How do you feel about a representative democracy?

Personally I think that a complete direct democracy is impossible, simple as my comrade said, not all people have the ability/knowledge to make certain desicions, but from there I wouldn't go as far as to say we need to elect officials to carry out terms, but rather democratically elect temporary councils to complete objectives and dissolve them and reform them as neccessary, all through democracy of course.

Where do you stand?

It's not black or white.

For post-revolution, post classism democracy, we can make global decisions through a delegate/convention system like the IWW's decision-making process.

For local decisions, and decisions on how to implement the convention's production goals or stuff like that locally, direct democracy is the best option.
