"According to the new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll President Bush's national approval rating has declined to 39 percent, the lowest level during his Presidency. And among African-Americans, Bush has only a 2 percent approval rating, proving that African-Americans are not fooled by Republican's hollow apologies and empty rhetoric on outreach to the African-American community."

Dammit, if only there were a few million more black voters we could have had a decent president back there.

Does anyone know the stats on what percentage of the eligible black community actually votes?

In 2004, 122,293,332 people voted, 12% of whom were Black (14,675,200 -- 4.4 million higher than usual).

The U.S. has about 278,400,000 citizens, 12% of whom are Black (33,408,000) which means about 57% of Blacks voted.

For some reason that seems awful high, but that's what it looks like to me. I don't have stats on eligible Black voters, so I can't specifically answer your question.
