why does the MAS (Movement Towards Socialism) oppose Chevez.

I don't know much about them, but if they do oppose him it is probably because they are not actually socialist but social democratic. Chavez is more radical than most social democrats. Do you have a source for this??

MAS (in venezuela) first supported Chavez, but then as Chavez turn out to be moving farther to the left, organizing popular movements, carrying out land reform and creating a new class-conscious workers federation UNT, they withdrawed their support; this clearly show that MAS if one of those ex-socialist parties who became social-democrats. But some members of MAS still have a revolutionary approach and there is a lot of division about this issue in MAS.

Keep in mind it's "Movement Towards Socialism", not "Movement To Socialism". They have no intention of taking this all the way.
