I discovered this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edelweiss_Pirates) article while browsing wikipedia and thought it was interesting. My questions are pretty much the same as the ones in the discussion though,
Did they have some ideology or just was having fun together? Music? Drinking?
Any thoughts? Did you guys already know about them?

From what I remember they were simply middle-class kids who, understandably, wanted to avoid the Hitler Youth so that they could drink and dance together instead. I don't think there was any particularly strong ideological element...

The Eldweiss pirates were almost all working class. It was the other group that was middle class that dressed up in english clothes. The Eldweiss piratesmay not have taken a particular line but they were a cool group. They also attacked the German army towards the end of the war

The German youth resistance whether it be political or apolitical should be praised, when a nation full of adults wouldn't disobey the Nazis, it took a hell of a lot of courage for those kids to defy them.
