I of course support the ways of the leftists but I just find it irritating when people always associate this music (ie: punk/grind) which Im not a fan of with communism and leftists beliefs and values.
Any thoughts? Of Course there are!
Thanks
Andrew

The punk movement had an anti-establishment vibe going on... whether it was genuine or for money is arguable. The Clash, for example, were certainly politically and socially conscious. The Sex Pistols, however, not so much, even though they supposedly advocated anarchism, etc.

many of the punk bands are against any form of established thinking or beliefs which make them more desirable to people who dont fit into these categories ever since the Iraq war its been increasingly easy to find a popular following if your a reasonable punk band thats anti goverment/establishment republicans being far right have a tendency to associate any thought not in agreement with theirs as left

Why does it irritate you, because it tends to be true (most punk tends to be leftist)? Don't make me make a list. What sort of music do you listen to that you wish was leftist?

There's a band Crass, who's music sounds like the sort of sound an elephant with bronchitis makes when its being tortured. They were anarchist.
