In Memory of Louis Auguste Blanqui (http://www.marxismonline.com/modules.php?name=Universal&op=ViewItems&vid=29)

The writer’s plan was originally to write an article introducing the Hegelian system of the universe for this issue, however, as this year is the 200th anniversary of Blanqui’s birth, and as his thought has been neglected by socialists for too long, and is still being neglected today, the writer considered it to be particularly important to write something about who Blanqui was and what he really did and thought. This article is not able to go into much detail about anything, but hopes to serve as the basis of a further study, by both the writer and the reader, of Blanqui and other pre-Marxian thinkers. Blanqui can be considered to be part of the series on ‘The Origins of the Marxist Theory of History’ as it is likely certain that Blanqui influenced the French workers who turned Marx into a communist. Marx’s admiration for Blanqui also make him relevant to the series. The first of either 3 or 4 articles on Hegel will be in the next issue.
