Dunno If anyone has seen this recently, but they have created a vaccine that is 100% effective in stopping cervical cancer. A HUGE breakthrough.

IIRC the vaccine doesn't stop cervical cancer, it helps prevent infection with human pappiloma virus (genital warts -certain types of which can go on to cause cancer) and so can stop cancer developing later.

The vaccine was really awesome in clinical trials, so yay! Of course I could be talking out of my arse as this is just what I remember from a virology class last semester, before the vaccine actually came on the market.
