I always see in this forum people talkin' about the governament, the presidents and all athourity....

...and I ask: There are no big Social Movements in your country?

Here in Brasil we have the MST (Movimento dos Trabalhadores Sem Terra), the Pastorais Sociais, MTST (Movimento dos Trabalhadores Sem Teto), the MIRE (Mística e Revoluçao) and lots of others that are helpin' to build a new country...

In Argentina they have the "Mães da Praça de Maio"...

and in the rest of the world?
I Know the Black Block, the ATTAC, Via Campesina (I don't know if is only in Latin America)...

I really think that great changes cames from the people, we canot wait every thing from the politics....

What Social Movements you have in your country...?

For Iran, they have the Communist worker party of Iran. But they are not located in iran, or else they would get shot. Their website is www.cpiran.org (http://www.cpiran.org). There is also another party. www.wpiran.org (http://www.wpiran.org).

We Call it the Liberal Party of Canada, and the New Democrat Party. The first is currently in power.

What? Are those the asshole british style liberals or are they actually cool? NDP is pretty badass.

I checked out the NDP site and apparently they hate the liberals.

Here in America we have the G/GPUSA (greens, anti-capitalist), the GPUS (greens, reform capitalist), the Socialist Party USA (moderate socialist), and the Labor Party (center left).

The Greens are the largest group while the Labor Party is just starting to form and the SP only puts up candidates as a form of protest.

Oh, you wanted social movements, not parties...we have plenty of bored rich white anarchists. The greens (well, the libertarian left in general, really) are the only real viable social movement...they basically stand for everything that major protests do in the United States.
