Time magazine have put together an online poll to see who voters think is the greatest threat to world peace. The choices are Iraq, North Korea, and the US.

Guess who's got the most votes?

it's an internet poll, and thus is meaningless. it doensn't really represent anything...

Pretty much, but you can't say it isn't surprising.

The problem with internet votes is that the kind of people who vote are more likely to be anti-american, or just do not represent an average slice of society. Unfortunately most people in the US believe Bush, he's really good at this thing my mum calls "emotional intelligence" which means he (or his advisors!) can read people and know what to say to provoke the desired reaction.

What!? You've gotta be kidding. Up until I came to this website, around 90% of the people I encountered on the internet were from the US and idiotic pieces of crap, incapable of thinking outside the box. (i.e. supporters of the War).

What websites are you visiting mentalbunny? I can count the number of intelligent leftist sites with the fingers of my right hand.

They had the same poll on CNN, I sent them an e-mail about it and they read it on the air :)

What I meant was that most of the people who consistute a real problem wouldn't even find that poll, let alone vote in it. They aren't like us, they don't feel the need to show how bad iraq is like we have to show how bad the US is, because they think it's obvious. Maybe I'm wrong, this is only my opnion, but I don't think that the poll really represents anything, it just shows that the intelligent people realise that the threat is the US, and I already knew that.

it does make one feel good but even if the poll was the real world oppinion...how does it effect us at all? i mean the majority of the people around the world would never do anything about it...how do we defend freedom in this world of tyrony? freedom of all...not just the powerful minority but the weak and underrepresented majority

mentalbunny is right, though. Many of the people who vote are going to be anti-American, if for no other reason than most people who I've seen who are pro-war think it's just too obvious to even state!!

Hm, "emotional intelligence"......accurate!

Doshka, I understand what you are saying and i really do not know what we can do. All we can really do is try to educate as many people as possible. Even if we cannot convert the world to leftism we can at least try to open their eyes and their hearts to the oppression in the world that they can help overcome. However i am unsure of how to go about this, if anyone has any ideas then it would be great. Maybe we can get groups of people together and they can go to nearby towns and cities to try talking to people on the street.

Queen of Diamonds, thanks for your comment, you are entirly correct :)

one of the major steps we could be looking into is that brainwashing media...shifting its views...buying time on CNN, CNBC, ABC, NBC...ect. the stations that ignorant dust-stuffed people whatch before they say their prayers and go to bed..without a thought in their head ofcourse...if these staions have brainwashed these people so much than it can educate them just the same...also i was visiting my bro in university in austin a month ago and i noticed all of these posters and banners al over the place against globalization...austin is really big on antiglobalization...even to the people who dont really care about these subjects it opens their eyes...they see things differenty..maybe some will go home and research this and join the great revolution...everyone counts..there are small things and ways whoch actually help a great deal

And don't you think that the CIA and the US government act if the creditability of their greatest brainwashing tool is been affected.

I am sure they would do something. Second of all I doubt if the effect is enough, and untill some of them starts to think about the commercial we have lost tens of millions waisting on the costs.

It's been proven that the most effective way of advertising is if someone tells you about it. So go comrades, tell your ignorant friends about it.

unfortunately there will most likely never be true in our time, if the world truly wanted peace as much as they all talk about it then there would be peace, but there is one thing that prohibits peace, no one can make any money from it, it sickens me to think that these capitalist pigs are lining their pockets through the blood of millions of innocent people.
