im sure that you guys know about it, just not really talk about it. the EZLN is not conducting an armed movement right away, but if the mexican gov't doesnt give em what they want, land, then they will revolt. they are based on the ideals of the infamous Emiliano Zapata, the indigenous rebel leader who led his rebels and eventually became a martyr. i pray(even though im not religious), for their cause and hope that they can achieve the change that they deserve and for so long have been denied. hasta la victoria siempre!

EZLN is what we should all be aiding. EZLN is the kind of movement we need here in America.
They are riseing up against the oppresive government and they are trying to give equality to all.
Marcos is the voice of all the oppresed and we must try to aid him as much as
we can.

your about 11 years to late man. the armed struggle is over for them. they want to go through "peaceful" channels. all they have gained right now is autonomy, the need to take up the armed struggle again and get more support throughout mexico. their recent communiques are strange, and idk whats up with them.

hey nate, i know that they have been around for 11 years, but i thought that they would eventually conduct an armed revolution if the gov. didnt cooperate. thanks for the info comrade.

Comrade, the EZLN's first action was that of armed insurrection. They rose up in a few towns and siezed land/occupied government buildings. They have been in a tense cease-fire with the government which started a few months after that uprising. They are an armed group, they have only recently officially declared that they are going to go about peaceful, more political means.

I recently read about events in Chiapas and the EZLN. A little late..I know, I really feel it important to help those in less fortunate situations. I like the ideas and projects of the grassroots organization. I might be interested to go volunteer and see what I can do over there....Hasta la victoria comrades!
