Hey eveyone,

I've decided on starting a learning/study group in order to help educate the people in my community better and show them what the left is really like and to promote community self-awareness...

im sure some members of the board have started one on and im just lookin for tips or resources to get me started, please no party spamming, i dont care what the RCP can do for me

also im having trouble thinking of a name (i suck at names). i don't want anything to scare people off, just something like anti capitalist study group or somethin like that, just something that covers all ages and people...just couldn't think of anything concise enough to see on the top of flyers etc etc so if you have any good ideas let me know...the name of my town is greensboro, you might need that...

For a name you should just go with something concise like 'Greensboro Leftist Forum' or 'Greensboro Leftist Discussion Group', that way hopefully you will attract people from across the leftist spectrum.

As far as organizing it, I would see if I could organize it somewhere rather spacey and public, like maybe a university or something, or else you could do it at home I guess. You should basically hold an initial meeting to see what other people wanna read, decided on a text, give yourself a good two weeks to read the stuff then have a meeting. You're meeting can be very simple, the way the discussion groups I have been to work is: first there is usually a speaker that introduces the text, possibly asks some opening questions that people can ponder, then a long discussion section where people ask questions/other people answer them/people talk about what they learned from the text etc, then you can end by deciding on your next text to do. Hope this helps, I guess I didn't really add much, lol...
