Every now and then I need to hear some bullshit so I turned CNN on and there was an economist talking about how globalism was dead and that the world market was returning to the pre-capitalist stage.

Haha. That's the degeneration of the bourgeoisie for you. Their economists are filled with dread at this point, and so we get the "end of the world" scenarios, and the rise of good old fashioned Fascism amongst the petit-bourgeoisie in some parts of the world.

Hence the "end of globalism", the return to "precapitalist" society, the rise of primitivism... eww...

I think u heard them say "globalism has failed". Cuz no economist would be stupid enough to say that it's dead. It WON'T die. Our advanced technology ensured the flourishing of international trade. Wether or not that's a good thing is another issue.

Globalism is THE only way in the future.

That is why us Marxists advertised for it long before the modern form of globalism ever existed.

However the possibility of globalization being hijacked by corporations and capitalists seemed to have slipped our mind. :(

No it didn't, Marx spoke of it long ago, as did Lenin. The thing is, hard as they try, Capitalists cannot build functional globalism. Their competing interests and the current economic structure ensure that can never happen.

I agree 100%. But we have a sort of globalization thing going on---as messed up as it is.

Well, we have imperialism, and Lenin and Marx did speak about that kind of "globalization". It didn't catch us by surprise.
