John Roberts (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9595961/)
Kevorkian Interview (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9532036/)

I personally support it, the government has no right to tell you that you have too continue living because God wants you to.

Roberts is going to make this difficult. You might as well kill yourself while you still have the chance. Enjoy your other liberties as well because they'll be gone soon.

Even when people are killing off their relatives, who will probably recover just to get their nest eggs?

Nest eggs?

No. If they want to kill themselves they can do it themselves. That's a waste of time and money.

"Doctor, could you help save this person's life?"
"No, I have to go kill someone."

Some people are physically unable to commit suicide.

We must do something about the youth in Asia! They're being forced to make sneakers.

I think it was ment to be a joke, anyway i think if you want to die you should be able to even if you do need help, but im not in support of euthanasia to rid us of the old and usless.

Yep. It was a joke. Not a good joke or a funny joke, but a joke.

There's acceptible times for euthanasia, like being a vegg stuck in your bed. There's also other times when it would be rather dumb, like if I cut off my hand and demanded Euthanasia because I couldn't "live without my hand".

It only takes one hand to fire a pistol, bullets are cheap. Blow yourself away I say.

Reminds me of stories my mother told me about working in a nursing home. She's a great supporter of euthanasia. I support it because, personally, I would prefer to die on my own terms, not nature's (or "God's").

The biggest problem would be the fact that the decision would be made by doctors who get paid regardless of treatment. Now considering that there's much less work involved in euthanasia than other treatments this might not work as well as people think... :P

Patient:"Doctor Doctor, I've got this strange infection on my xxxx!"
Doctor:"Your xxxx!?! I'm not going down there! I recommend euthanasia"
Patient:"Ummm... isn't that a bit extreme?"
Doctor:"Trust me, I'm a doctor"

I don't think the doctors would be able to make that decision. They might suggest it, but it would ultimately be the patient's choice (Assuming they are conscious and can think and reply).

I am for euthanasia. Its only the "humane" thing to do. Why should the govt. tell someone: "You can't die right now, even though you may be suffering and have to go through unbearable pain, you cant kill yourself". But if this is a referrence to the Supreme Court case, then we have the US hypocritical "pro-life" theocracy on everyone's asses. Especially with those 2 new idiots in the Supreme Court. God, I fucking hate conservatives.

At the moment medicine is moving very much away from that kind of paternalism. Hopefully it's more than just something you learn in medical school... You're basically not supposed to tell a patient to do anything, you present information and allow them to decide.

And every sane pro-euthanasia person acknowledges and affirms very strongly that the decision should be made by the person themselves, or where they are incompetent, by a proxy (a spouse or child). While the proxy is very problematic, it's better than a treating doctor who doesn't really know the patient, making the decision.

I've been talking to my mum about ageing and stuff, and surprisingly she's pro-euthanasia, yay! Did any Australians watch the Insight about ageing recently?
