struck by war and embargo.

1.2. Report from the common protest rally of solidarity delegations in
Baghdad
About two hundred participants form international solidarity
delegations gathered today in front of the UN-Headquarters in Baghdad
in order to protest against the coming war and against the sanctions
against Iraq. The protest rally, with big resonance in the media,
called upon the UNO not to provide any pretext to the US to unleash
their war of aggression.
The protest meeting was organized by the ÑSpanish State Campaign for
Lifting the Sanctions on Iraqì and the ìSolidarity Delegation of the
Anti-Imperialist Campî with participants from Italy, Germany, Austria,
Turkey, Palestine, Belgium, England, Switzerland and Sardinia.
The following petition was handed out to representatives of the UN-
mission, who however were not ready to receive the representatives of
the delegations.
No war, no sanctions!
* Considering the real and imminent threat of war against Iraq, in
itself an outcome of US aggressive policies and Bush s doctrine of
preemptive, global and permanent war,
* Considering Iraq is not a menace to any country and that no evidence
has been provided to support the contrary,
* Considering that this war only serves US imperialist and neo colonial
interests:
We declare that US reports on alleged possession of arms of ìmass
destructionî by Iraq are totally unacceptable, mainly because they come
from the very same country that is the world s leading producer,
exporter and user of the aforementioned arms.
We deeply regret the tragic effects of the twelve year long embargo on
Iraq, which has resulted in more than one million and a half Iraqis
dead, and enormous suffering and decline of living conditions for the
whole country.
Today, on January 2, 2003, the undersigned international delegations
come to demonstrate in front of the UN main office in Iraq to demand:
* to totally oppose the war preparations led by the UN and Great
Britain
* not to offer any legal and political support to this aggression aimed
at the occupation of Iraq which is defying international law.
* to take any necessary steps to immediately end the sanctions, which
constitute an undeclared genocidal war against Iraq.
Stop the war before it starts!
Lift the sanctions now!

2. The loneliness of Bolivar
Resolution of the Anti-imperialist Camp on the situation in Venezuela
The president of Venezuela facing a nation split into poor and rich
Since one month the those political and social forces that had failed
in their reactionary coup díÈtat in April, have been mobilizing again
to bring down the elected government of Hugo Chavez. In the streets of
Caracas and other mayor cities there is a united front of the
bourgeoisie and the oligarchy of the country represented by the
traditional parties AD and COPEI, a big part of the middle classes, the
workers aristocracy from the petrol sector, some elements of the old
state bureaucracy and the military hierarchy that fear for their
privileges and, last but not least, the mass media. Imperialism seems
to be still waiting for the right moment to intervene actively against
the ìantidemocratic governmentî. But US also hesitate in order to avoid
a second front when they soon will start the war of aggression against
Iraq.

3. Declaration of the international symposium against isolation
During the Symposium against Isolation, which was held in the
Netherlands from 19-21 December 2002, and joined by 55 representatives
from Turkey, the Basque Country, Palestine, Spain, Italy, Germany,
Greece, Belgium, Lebanon, Marocco, Peru, France, Austria, Columbia,
Portugal, Denmark and the Netherlands, the following decisions were
taken:
Declaration against isolation in the prisons
December 19-22 were the days when in the year 2000, 28 prisoners in
Turkey were killed in the struggle against isolation.
As almost everywhere else in the world, the political prisoners in
Turkey should be totally isolated in order to break and destroy them.
This prisoners lead an exemplary fight for more than 2 years with a
death fast, the longest hunger strike in the history against state
terrorist isolation torture. This struggle has already cost over one
hundred lives and still goes on today. Isolation is one of the most
extreme forms of repression, like the disappearances most particulary
in arap world and Latinamerika, torture and murder. Isolation is a mean
to destroy thoughts, especially political thoughts. Isolation is a
tortoure, tortoure is a crime against humanity and this form of torture
was initiated by imperialist states, like the USA and the countries of
EU. We all upon all peoples to fight all kind of isolation as part of
today¥s struggle against oppression and exploitation.
That¥s why we want to call the days from 19-22nd December worldwide
days of action against isolation imprisonment.
We agreed that isolation is damaging in human and medical way and is
ilegitim.
We should put struggle against isolation into practice in his own
framework.
