Recently at work I've noticed a small stack of a newspaper called "The New Federalist" and a stack of pamphlets promoting someone named "LaRouche." At first I thought this was a bunch of religious nonsense because the pamphlet said "Soldiers of Satan" and had a picture of Dick Chaney on the cover. Then, I thought he was a communist or a leftist because he used the word "fascist" a lot to describe the Bush administration.

But now I'm worried because this seems to want to revive the old Federalist movement and I've heard somethings about the LaRouche Youth Movement bordering on cultism.
Based on their webpage (which is hosted on Geocities of all places), they seem to want to bring America back to the "golden years," which leads me to believe they are largely a reactionary group.

In short, how worried should I be about this?

First off the Federalists in the early years of America were very similiar to the current Republican party in that they beleived in a strong central government and also put the survival and industrialization of the nation more important than what the people what.

These people just seem like a crazy cult to me.

My grandma had a run in with Lerouche. He was blocking the doors of the post office making people sign a petition that would get him on the ballot so they could get in. When she walked up, she said "I'll plow you unless you get the hell out of my way", and she's a very big woman. Anyways, after she left, some one called the pigs and they busted up the little Nazi's party.

Well, I'm preparing for a "propaganda blitz," if you will. IWW's Industrial Worker, my propaganda pamphlet, etc. will be unleashed in my city. I'm just wondering if I should speed up the process.

I mean how popular is this fool's beliefs and taking that into consideration, should I speed up the process of acquiring the necessary propaganda?

Appearently they have a small contingent running in Montreal. I saw a few of them hanging around a street corner on Earth Day promoting nuclear power and yelling something about the Queen; if I recall correctly, one of their posters insisted that 'the problem' with the US and Canada is that they are 'too British'. Right, that's the problem.. I believe that he has referred to Rock music as 'a British conspiracy to make North America stupid'; and also accused the Windsors of secretly running a drug cartel.

In short, he is a conservative, pro-life, self-important dumbass with sever (often hilarious) delusions about the Monarchy. He and his 'movement' ought to be undermined at every possible occaison. About being worried, though: I wouldn't be. He's powerless.

They're just idiotic consipiracy/UFO nuts. I wouldn't worry about them unless they start gaining political power.

Lyndon LaRouche: fascist demagogue (http://www.publiceye.org/larouche/nclc1.html)

As others have said, they're complete nutballs. But then, fascists aren't known for cool-headed rationality.

How worried? They're not terribly strong anywhere I've heard of.

And it's been a number of years since they've engaged in physical attacks like these. (http://www.publiceye.org/larouche/Mop-Up.html) That I've heard of, anyway. Mostly they yell a lot.

LaRouche began as a largely insignificant leftist cult-leader inside the SDS before swinging far right. He runs for the leadership of the Democratic Party at every convention.

I once asked the LaRouchites in Montreal why they were canvasing for the Democratic Party leadership in Canada. They never gave me an accurate answer.

Hey all,

Here is the first New Citizen Newspapers written by the Larouche Youth movement, where we look at Australia's youth 'Death Culture'.
This paper will go through the sucess that the LYM have been having in Washington D.C. and having a look at the high suicide rates of Australian Youth, the dumbing down of generations from spoon feed schooling, how computer games were designed to train killers in the military, and how to we take on the ugliness of this sick culture that we are giving.

this will give you a very good example why we need you support in being politically active.

here is a PDF of the paper:

I visited their site and they just sound like hypocritical right-wingers. Not many of the majority Republican supporters would back them.
