Hello to everyone on this site before i go into introductions i would to state that when i visited this site i was inspired by the thought of a large community openly discussing socialism/communism but as i explored the site i came across a discussion about why so many leftists dislike bush. Now instead of an open debate what i found was a series of threads of name calling.
Dissapointing it seems that the very thing which brought communism a bad name that is the inability to accept other points of view and to openly question is evident within this very website.
Feel free to discuss this with me. I hope i am wrong.

You will find that although we openly discuss topics. Alot of us, me included, are pig headed with our beliefs. We do listen to debate, though generally our own personal opinions rarely change. Sometimes this leads to debates where both cases are put forward in a structured manner, however occasionaly the debate just reverts to petty name calling. Though I think there is less petty bickering, in general, on this board, than on other political boards.

Shut the fuck up Skinz!!! lol
Yea, its a good forum really. Too many big different ideas in one place can be constructive but also makes for name calling and frustration.
Happy posting.

welcome!
i dont think that you will find many members that will ever accept bush's point of view - it's completely opposed to what the left stands for! plus, this is revolutionary left ie most members would advacate violent revolution against the status quo.
i think i'm as pig headed as they come, but my own views have changed a lot over the time that i have been visiting revleft, in part because of some of the things that i have read on here

welcome. I know exactly what u mean, i'm a practing Democrat, many people call me a bleeding heart liberal, whatever. I do not support MOST of the things Bush has done, but we have a bigger problem on our hands. We must repair this country (the united states). we are severly suffering, while my fellow men are pointing the finger, and further eating into our own destruction. Though many of these alligations(about the things Bush has done) are justified, instead of saying "we have to impeach Bush" how about we say "we have to save this wretched country".

We're all here bkuz we believe in a leftist revolution, and are discussions are sometimes heated but we all strive towards a common goal
Personally, Im no democrat or republican, I usually vote independent
But Im not into advancing my political agenda, Im dedicated to uplifting the people by any means...and if Im labeled a socialist bkuz I fight for tha people then so be it
Its only right since socialism places the power upon the ppl

I support his wanting help the Iraquis, but not necessarily the way he has gone about doing say. I support his wanting to protect our country from further terrorists attacks, but not they way he has gone about doing so. it's a catch 2-2. I believe in this case, anarchy is my state of mind.

GW has never given a shit about "helping" the Iraqi's. Killing 100,000 civilians is no way to help them. Iraq is and was about strategic access to oil reserves and control of the Caspian basin and setting up another puppet regime favorable to U.S. hegemony.
With regards to "protecting our country from terrorism", that would best be served by removing the U.S. tentacles from all over the planet. People generally react violently when economically and militarily oppressed.

How did the war in Afghanistan/Iraq protect you from attack?
Attacking Afghanistan/Iraq led to;
1)A fuelling of hatred of America (and western states as a whole) in the Middle East
2)An excuse for more terrorist attacks
3)The killing of thounsands of innocent Iraqis.
4)No one trusting America or Bush, SERIOUSLY, outside of America I have never heard anyone express anything but derision and loathing for Bush; he's a joke.
5)Loads of other bad shit that I couldn't be bothred typing in
All of it for oil and another foothold in the Middle East
Good protecting their George

i think everyone hates W cos he is at the vanguard of all neoliberalism. i read on the e-zine about coca cola violently crushing unionism in their colombian bottling plant.
also its because he still believes in a laissez-faire attitude which we in britain realised didnt work in 1906, but was unfortunately brought back in the 80s, of which we still suffer the consequences.
