Recently my mother has been reading books on "spirituality", and talking about god and angels every chance she gets. While she doesn't describe herself as a Christian, I'm looking for a way to challenge superstition in every form.
Any ideas?

Arguments for religion and spirituality can be almost identical... for example:
"God doesn't exist," tends to work great for both.

I tell her that god doesn't exist. Then she tells me that god does exist.
One of the things I've been doing is saracastically telling her that Zeus is the true god. It's supposed to show the ridiculousness of the entire concept. She's not buying it though.

I suggest you introduce her to Flying Spaghetti Monsterism

It's really good that you started this thread. I've found that a lot of people who've rejected Christianity all-too-often fall into "spirituality". It's garbage and everyone knows it.
Basically, religion and spirituality both require faith, which is the willful suspension of rationality. Therefore, the two have the same social impact and are fundamentally the same thing. They both inhibit the search for objective truth, also.
Any argument you'd use against religion can be used just as effectively against "spirituality". Keep up the fight, pal!
