anybody know of the political parties in Ethiopia, because i will be going there next summer for humanitarian aid, and just wondering if there was a good communist party i could meet up there thanks

Ethiopian People's Revolutionary Democratic Front
A coalition of parties lead by a formerly Marxist-Leninist-Hoxhaist party that has degenerated into a defunct social democratic party (like the PRI). They hold the majority of seats in the legislative body (327 out of 527 seats).

Coalition for Unity and Democracy
Another social democratic party and also the main opposition.

United Ethiopian Democratic Forces
Democratic “socialist” and semi-nationalist and active in the legislature.

All other parties are either ethnic-nationalist or Islamist in some way or form.
