Last week i was engaged in a brief discussion about "taking the party and revolution in to the people", with a senior comrade of the party, who 's well educated.
Generally,in india people are scared / bored to come to the left classes or meetings...... as people are bombarded with information, core theories and other heavy stuff.(Even i used to get bored up with these classes,in my chilhood).
We are planning to take the leftist values in to people in a very indirect way, probably through entertainment...........which should be very local, relevant and interesting to the audiences. We will not have any trace of leftists or marxism in the drama/show- it would be completely cultural............with some un-tracable leftist-roots!

WAT UD YU sugest?

What I think you need to do to attract people is to show them that socialism will benefit them.
There is no point in going on about theory, the party, and communism, because people are just not interested in them.
You need to address the material needs of the people - you need to show them that if they were in control of society there would be no-one who could take advantage of them. Ther would be jobs, there would be money, there would be security.
If these ideas are completely not well recieved, then I would say that your chances of building at the moment are slim - but I find that idea highly unlikely. You just need to address what people need.
Culture does have an important part to play in this, and it can be left-wing. But I don't think its up to the party to do this - I think that it should be up to individuals wither from within the party or not.

How about some sort of street theatrical performance about the values and ethics of socialism?

Sounds rubbish I know, but what the hell!

You need to show people soiclaism at a pracitcal level. Like going on about big words doesnt do mutch. Showing them about say the way tin venzuela things have been improved helps a lot mroe as it shows what you're striving for.

thats what we are actually planning.

com.h&S, generally the majority of indians feel that socialism and communism are not useful to them........ they 're very afraid of one thing, which we frequently hear here in india - "if communist party comes in to power they 'll distribute our wealth and we'll have no right on our wealth!" .......... majority (...even some landless!) 'd never love to see communists ruling the country!

So we felt like taking ethics and values very indirectly into the people

i accept..........here some...no no ,most of the people spread and believe rumors which say "castro, chavez are dictators"
i am also searching some methods of convincing them.........
but for the moment they are so dumb and deaf........... they just absurdly try to justify their version!
........................i think think this is because of the influece of US on media.

Believe me, in Britain we have exactly the same problem, but it never stops us.
As I was trying to say ealier, and as Clenched Fist was saying, you need to address what people need.
We (socialist party) get an amazing response from working people when we campaign on issues that matter to them.
You need to get in touch with the people, find out what their concerns are, and campaing with them to fix things. Its no good saying 'well communism will fix everything' you need to show them that it is possible for them to fix it, with a little of you help.
And I don't think that your problems are as bad as you think - isn't there a province of India that is officially governed by the local 'communist' party?

BTW, I see your English has improved :)

Write a satirical play about capitalism.

Aren't you a part of the people? Why must you convince the people? Give facts and let the people convince themselves. That is the way Marx would have it, I believe.
