Tried to post this in Non-Sectarian Bastards thread in newswire.

"Hatred can be nurtured anywhere, idealism can be perverted into sadism anywhere. If hatred and sadism combine with modern technology the inferno could erupt anew anywhere'"

Does anyone know what his opinion was of the systemic oppression of Palestinians since the formation of the Israeli state?

What a great person. And the great thing is that he never wanted vengeance, he wanted justice. Obviously a far better person than the animals he hunted down. :)

From what I read about Simon Wiesenthal, he said he did NOT want to live in Isreal as he described himself as a non-Zionist.

Although Jewish, Wiesenthal always considered himself a European and an Austrian and always lived most of his life in Vienna, although he was born in the Galician province of the Hapsburg Empire near modern day Poland and Ukraine, near the Carpathian mountain range.

I suppose he saw no reason to move to Isreal as he rightly thought that Jews, like any other humans have a right to live in the nation of their choice and he probably thought that the idea that all Jews should leave Europe to go to their 'homeland' was a fufillment of what the Nazi's wanted, a Jew free Europe.
