Ok I have a friend who claims to worship Satan. This friend of mine is known to make stories up though. So yesterday he told me there was actually a bible of Satan. I'm using a computer at of all places a church so any attempt to search this up on google gets me blocked. So can anyone tell me is such a book really exists?

That shameless attentionmonger Anton LaVey probably wrote something with a title like that. He didn't worship Satan though - he worshipped himself.

I don't know any Satanists who believe Satan exists. LaVey didn't believe Satan existed either. "Satan" to them is not considered to exist literally. I've read parts of the Satanic Bible, it's about self-indulgence and hedonism. It's a load of hoity-toity Ayn Randism, Freudianism, paganism, Nietzsche, and neo-Darwinism.. No original material at all.

Servian's got it right. LaVey wrote a "Satanic Bible", I think, but it's really less of a religious text and more of a document trying to make some abstract form of libertarianism seem really cool. Better than the trash they read at church, though.

Yeah, LaVey preached what capitalism practices - look out for #1 and screw thy neighbor.

And the people who really believe in Satan are called....Christians.

Some of the Ten Commandments are actually pretty interesting and good to follow. But for the most part its about not-conforming by following the same kind of entity they preach so much against.

I have a friend who claims to be a Satanists, but again doesn't really believe in Satan per se.

Usually, satanism is just another way to say atheist, with are much more anti-Christian sentiment.

Sometimes I really wish I believed in Satan. John Constantine is my comicbook hero.

As far as the book goes - there isn't a Bible of Satan, so far as I know. There is a Satanic bible, as has already been mentioned, but it isn't really worth reading, unless you just want to understand where LaVey was coming from. Basically, he's very hedonistic, self-centred, and promotes only things that directly benefit yourself. Which is, in all honesty, a very apt ideology, as it is supposed to oppose Christianity in everything. Kind of flies in the face of, 'Love thy neighbour as thyself,' you know?

In that case I would call many of the atheist's here Satanists ;)

Sad really that people's views on religious worldviews aren't more comprehensive but then I suppose you can blame Christian institutions for that <_< Religion in general needs more attention.

From what I've herd Satanists don't believe in and existing evil being like the one portrayed in the Christian faith; from what I've herd (whether this is true), they worship something nature. I don't know if this is correct.
