It's difficult to translate, literal (lol)
"Up the Warriors!"
non-literal-
"The Warriors Hooray!"
It basically is just an all-encompassing war-cry for Irish people

It means literally, 'victory to the Volunteers'.

The Irish language is always matter to dialect. In most places Óglaigh means army, hence the IRA being Oglaigh na hEireinn.

Oglaigh na hEireann is just the Irish for 'the Irish Volunteers', the original incarnation of the IRA. In Irish though the syntex becomes 'The Volunteers of Ireland'. At least that's how I learned it.

Yet they kept the name even when it was called the IRA and signatures from the Irish Republican Army was always the gaelic, Oglaigh na hEireinn.
Just out of curiosity, what dialect do you speak?

Cool. I cant actually do the popularised one. I only know the main bits of the Ring dialect which is an area in Cork County where they refused to learn English and most of them were killed by the Tans for it. Its an older form of Gaelic but is okay. From where my family live, most of what you hear is "Poitin!" and "Prog Mahon" (excuse spelling).
