cos i cant really be bothered going into the details [having done so SO MANY TIMES over the course of the year], vsu is basically an attempt to stop funds going to student associations in unis in an attempt to disempower them and basically silence dissent, since in a lot of unis these associations are used as a left organising space. funds go towards posters, leaflets, etc, and while not getting these funds will in no way stop activists from doing their thing, it does limit our ability to get the word out to other people. anyways, there have been 3 'national days of action' against vsu. here are some photos from sydney :) peace.

but yeah, those photos span 3 rallies, all of them had a different atmosphere.. june 1 was students + staff [had a larger staff turnout], we didn't march very far, was kinda boring - lots of speeches by boring delegates. august 10 was great, the second big vsu action for the year [i dont have april 28 photos cos i didnt have my camera then], blocked off town hall intersection. august 25 was a lot smaller [so soon after august 10] but we went down to the liberal party headquarters which was cool. lots of drums and colour at the last two :D

Here not many (if any at all) protests take place so that's why I said i wish i was there.Imagine that the last one I took part in was a demonstration about the war in Iraq...:P

And I went....and it was raining very heavily and none of was had an umbrella...lol and i was wearing all star(converse)imagine...but it was great!There were many people from many different leftish parties!I took some pics as well (but by my mobile)...:-)

No, it was a general protest which happens every year on 17/11 all over greece because on 17/11/1974 the students revolved and kicked out the dictators from the country.So it's like a thankful protest but also slogans like "americans murderers of the people" "Socialism is the future" etc can be heard.
