Was hoping to start the student dissension network for you austrialians who are not in Sydney, Melboure, or Canberra so therefore cannot get to the majority of the rallies or other such action, people from these areas are welcome to join for input but this project is aimed at students of dissension in areas like darwin, townsville and perth, all large garrisons who could use vital co-ordination in thier anti-war and anti-capitalism movements
This is a call for
1) Insparation; tell us about you actions and their outcomes
2) Equimpemt; posters.leaflets.DA.
3) Support; after action reports and critical analysis
Thanks Commie Rat

Great idea. What will the network do? How will it be structured? Have you approached other groups for support?

Just making sure.
Maybe you should concentrate on your own school first. Make upa group in your school and then try and move out using practical examples of things your group have done as a way of attracting other people.

That's a start. Try and engage them in debate. Tell them you have this idea etc...See what they say? Just because they look a bit poserie, doesn't mean that they don't want to be authentic.

hey, thats great
did you hear about/were you involved in the national day of action against anz today? we had one in sydney, and in melbs, brizzy, and newcastle too. a few people form the mountains came to help us out with us.
whereabts are you?
maybe try and start a cool affinity groups [ours is mutiny and ive begun to set one up called sabotage which is graffiti/culture jamming based] and stuff, if you don't know any/many lefties it will be hard at first but as the word spreads youll get a few im sure. just make sure that your goals are defined from the start, and that you're all on the same level in terms of what you're willing to do, how much risk you want to take, whether you're ok with getting arrested [or even being confronted by police]
best of luck!!!
let us know how it goes ;)

its still getting off at the mo, we've had a bunch of actions - averaging about two a week for the past 4 weeks - and at first they were really effective but its slowing down mainly cos the police now have a zero-tolerance policy against us and are anxious to use their batons and handcuffs [and not in a kinky way either! :P]
we're trying to raise awareness at the moment, while our actions are disruptive considering theyve made like a 6.5 billion dollar profit or something from their affairs in iraq in the past 6 months or so, i doubt its gonna make them withdraw any time soon. so we're tyring to reach out to the broader community and coming up with different ways to do this.
ill scan the leaflet and some stickers tomo at uni and post em up :)
