Hyuhang(im not sure about his first name) Rho won the elections in South Korea against his conservative enemy Lee.Rho wants to establish an european-like welfare state in south korea(lee wanted an usa like predator capitalism). Rho is also against the presence of american troops in south korea. He also wants a unified korea.
He also supports worker unions and he wants to shorten the power of corporations by laws.
Comrade Junichi, whats your opinion?
For me, as a european, it seems quite good...

I thought Kim Dae Jung was corrupt. His son is corrupt.

How many days you think before the CIA shoots him?
ComradeJunichi

Kim Dae Jung, went through the worst crap. He was somewhat of an 'activist', several of the senior presidents tried to have him killed and etc. He was labeled a 'red'.
The new president, Roh, is by far better than Lee. Lee wanted to be fucked up the ass by the US, in a metaphorical way. He also wanted to end the sunshine policy and drop embargoes on North Korea, and etc. I personally think dialogue is much better than economic aggression.
Roh is also called a 'red'. Red=communist, communist=lucifer. That's pretty much Korea for you guys. Korean politics is total crap right now, and before. These people don't do shit, I'm hoping Roh will prove it wrong. Kim Dae Jung, was such a 'radical' election but he hasn't done anything. Well, it's exageration but he hasn't done that much. Besides this Sunshine Policy, which was totally destroyed by the US. As soon as North and South relations started to heat up (positively), the US comes in and Bush names it an "Axis of Evil". That was such a smart thing, it made the North more isolated. Boom, we're back to 1953.

Sounds like a step in the right direction, though, I believe that the North Koreans will try to take advantage of the efforts to remove the American troops from the South. Unless, of course, the North sympathyses with the South's newly established government well, in which case the US would bring about another Korean War.
My thoughts, anyway.
Good luck for all the Koreans
Comrade Daniel

Sounds like a political step forward, I hope we'll soon see the reality. I believe it's great that a removal of American troops will happen and also the working class will gain more wealth but what about the CIA???

I don't think that N-Korea will take advantage of the removal of US troops there. First of all the S-Korea army is way stronger. Second why would they want another war. And I don't think that enough N-Koreans would support step in the wrong way like a military assault.
Comrade Junichi: Who was corrupt there? His son?
ComradeJunichi
21st December 2002, 12:43
In North Korea? In North Korea, Kim Jung Il, the present president is an ass. He doesn't know what the hell he is doing. His father would be ashamed, :) Although his father wasn't the greatest man either, he was much better than Kim Jung Il.
And South Korea's army is a piece of shit compared to North Korea's. If it was the North vs South without the US, the North would take the South in a matter of minutes. Seoul is like 30 minutes away from the DMZ, so I'd die a few minutes after the air raid.

I thought the S.Korean army was very up to date and well trained. And wasn't the N.Korean air force filled with old airplanes?
ComradeJunichi
21st December 2002, 13:09
South Korean army may be alright, but the North's is huge. Yeah, I think the airforce may be filled with old soviet planes. But with their missiles, and amount of troops they'd take us anyday.
Dr. Rosenpenis
21st December 2002, 18:58
So Junichi, you say that the North is much stronger than the South, wouldn't the North use this to their advantage in taking the South into their power, or are they no longer interested?

A battle between N.Korean army and S.Korean army would be won by S.Korea, I know that for sure. And masses don't mean much since modern warfare. The Iraqi army was the third largest army in the world before D Storm, but the dudes were chanceless with their AK's against the modernest planes, bombs, machineguns etc.
But would the people of the 2 Korea's support a war?
Comrade Daniel
22nd December 2002, 00:07
I think not, didn't they already saw a lot (to many) cruelty I think they (both N and S Korean people) have had enough of it afther the last war.
I do believe war is won by men not by machine.

It starts to change, soon unmanned tanks, airplanes and maybe even robot infantery will appear on the battlefield.
Corvus Corax
22nd December 2002, 11:24
And there is no doubt the US would get involved, being the 'peaceful nation' that they are.
Dr. Rosenpenis
22nd December 2002, 13:50
Corvus Corax makes a good point, even if the South trie to remove the American troops from their nation, the US will ventualy return once their is a war. I don't think that there would be a war though, because the South isn't going to get rid of the American troops until they become sure that the North isn't going to invade.
Comrade Daniel
22nd December 2002, 14:58
Victorcommie, will N-korea invade if they have the change aren't they afraid for the UN or US and don't they already have enough problems.
Dr. Rosenpenis
23rd December 2002, 02:17
CD, the North still aspires to have all of Korea in its fascist claws. That is why about 80% of North Koreans are in the military.
Comrade Daniel
23rd December 2002, 13:21
Damn, that's a army of about 19,120,000 people who the hell can they feed them?
Dr. Rosenpenis
23rd December 2002, 18:05
They can't and thats why they're facing a mass starvation. The American Red Cross is helping them out, though.
Non-Sectarian Bastard!
23rd December 2002, 22:17
80%:shocked" where did you find stats like that?
Comrade Daniel
23rd December 2002, 22:29
Just thinking: What about China putting 80% of their people in the army and fights against the US :) sick idea isn't it???
Non-Sectarian Bastard!
24th December 2002, 00:31
China doesn't fight the USA. They got friends because China has a lot of workers and the USA a lot of money.
deimos
24th December 2002, 11:36
80%? But not in the armed forces!
Korea: 1925500 men are in the armed forces in n.korea. But thas still huge for a country of this size(23 million inhabitants). Germany(82 million) has about 293000 people fighting for their country(inclusive those who aren't in the armed forces)...
Non-Sectarian Bastard!
24th December 2002, 11:59
How do mean fighting for ur country but not in the armed forces? Reservers?
Comrade Daniel
24th December 2002, 14:29
80% is to much I think, they have to put children and old people in the army, besides the other 20% are propably people who can't work that good or are just to jung or old so howabout their econemy who works in the farms? It's a crazt fact 80% in the army.
ComradeJunichi
24th December 2002, 21:05
80 percent in the army is obviously an exageration. Unless you can support it with facts.
The North would destroy South Korea in a war. The South Korean army really isn't as good as you think it is.
The people of the South, most definitely do not support a war. Who the hell supports a fucking war anywhere? Oh wait, besides the brainwashed majority of America.

I see regurarly hard fights of South-Koreans with their coppers. How big is the leftist movement there?
Pavan Sohal
24th December 2002, 22:54
The movement isn't so much leftist in the communist sense as just Liberal. They have similar leanings as the Japanese. And it makes up most of the population, don't expect any marxist followers though, they're right beside the fruitcake of commies.
Dr. Rosenpenis
25th December 2002, 02:58
Okay, 80% is an exageration, I simply meant to stress the piont that a huge number of their population is involved in the military.
And yes, they can kik the South's ass.
ComradeJunichi
25th December 2002, 04:21
Barely anything left in Korea. Propagating communism is illegal, and I think Marx/Engels/Lenin/etc. books are illegal, or were illegal.
Non-Sectarian Bastard!
25th December 2002, 18:06
How bout those fights with the police? Who the hell are they??
ComradeJunichi
26th December 2002, 02:10
Just because people fight police does not mean they are leftists. If you watch COPS you see a black man punch a cop and run, does that make them leftist?
Be more specific, but I think they are students, workers, etc.
Pavan Sohal
27th December 2002, 19:11
There are plenty of students fighting the Ayatollahs in Iran...that doesn't make them communist.
Non-Sectarian Bastard!
27th December 2002, 19:12
No, I thougt it because they were protesting against US bases andso.
