It's a composite picture - you can't see the whole world at once! Dunno how the light level relates to what you'd see with the naked eye. But it's not made up.....and does reflect relative levels of development.

Oh yea, I realized all of that. I just don't think that the light is what you'd actually see if you were there in space.. there's gotta be some way to find out, eh?

That one pic of the entire world was BS, but you can see the lights from Satellite if it close enough, and it has taken pics like that:

Sorry, but that picture looks like more shit that the one of the world...it looks as if someone spattered ink on the US. Kinda ugly.
