Interesting read, though if you look through it the majority of them was during the 1960's and a lot of those seemed to be cappies and members of the CIA. Considering that it's was only 15 American citizens since Castro and comparing that to say American Imperialism...

1. You're quoting an anti-Cuba website created and maintained by the right-wing gusano mob in Miami.

2. I don't even see sources listed on this page - unless I'm missing them.

3. Even if these 15 executions were true, they would have been justifiable.

These are people that invaded Cuba to overthrow the popular government!! Why is it okay for the U.S. to send mercenaries to invade Cuba, but wrong for Cuba to kill them??

Its always important to remember objectivity, and its meaning in any kind of expose such as this. The photographer only takes pictures of the things he wants you to see, and the person presenting the pictures will only show you the pictures he wants you to see.
Yes, some of the conditions look bad in the pictures, but I could honestly take the same kind of pictures depicting poverty in the United States, the same kind of conditions he presents as the "real Cuba" exist 10 minutes down the road from where I write this.
The one "photograph" that made me laugh was the one depicting the state aircaft of Cuba and Venezula. They said Chavez bought an Airbus 319 for his official airplane. But the "photograph" they use to depict it is actually a still from a video game!
Then there is the picture of the afro-cubans supposedly being kicked off a beach by the Cuban police, because they were black or non-tourists. But there is no way to prove that as the actual case, for all we know the afro-cuban women may have been asking the officer for directions or for help in finding an errant child.
It is also important to remember that despite socialism, Cuba is still a poor country. But I bet that if you were to compare conditions in Cuba, to Pro-US, Pro-WTO, Pro-World Bank, Capitalist Haiti, you would find that across the board, conditions are better in Cuba.
Castro and socialism are not the source of poverty in Cuba; the fact that Haiti is not run by Castro, that it is capitalist and Pro-US, but just as poor is good proof to this.
Also, the website completely ignores conditions in the US, the extreme gap in living conditions between rich and poor, and most revealing, they show no pictures or give no explaination to all the poverty and social stratification in Miami, their base of operations against socialist Cuba.

24. Anthony Salvard – Executed by Firing Squad

Born in U.S.A. Date: 13-10-60. Location: San Juan Hill shooting practice field, Santiago de Cuba. Place of residence: U.S.A. Description: Landed with a group on October 1960 in Navas Bay, Oriente province, to start a guerrilla movement. Was captured and sentenced to death by a Revolutionary Tribunal. The summary trial lasted only 20 minutes and ten men were sentenced to death. The appeal took 20 minutes and the execution was carried out that same day. Was executed by firing squad together with fellow Americans Robert Fuller, Allen Thompson, and Anthony Zarba. Notes: The U.S. filed a diplomatic note of protest that was rejected by the Castro government. Writer Norberto Fuentes recounts a 1987 meeting during which Fidel and Raúl Castro gloated about having the four Americans executed.

Innocent. Yeah right.
Virtually all of these people where trying to topple the Castro Government in its infancy.
What do these idiots think would happen if someone tried to start a guerilla movement in the U.S.

Also, just to put this in context, the site identifies William Morgan as a supporter of Castro who was later shot by firing squad at "the Wall".

William Morgan was an american who helped train some of Castro's guerilla's, true. However, as was the case with many Castro supporters, after Castro reveiled his communist leanings (he hid them for quite some time) Morgan started to work with the CIA. This website is disgusting. Quote the site:
"There was no discrimination, as far as the firing squad was concerned. Young and old, black and white, rich and poor were sent to 'el paredón' (the wall). "

Having read a great deal about the revolution itself it is easy to see the lies in this statement. Che himself presided as Supreme justice in these cases, and they were not indescriment killings. Most of those killed were: Former soldiers, traitors to the cause ( on more than one occasion Che had to kill a man trained by the rebellion), wealthy aristocrats or former officials in the government.

I read some things that suggest William Morgan was an agent of the CIA from the beginning.

Well I read the first one, and it should be known that the "Brothers to the Rescue" (a Miami based anti-Cuban group) plane was flying in Cuban airspace and not responding to radio calls from Cuba. What do you think would happen if an unknown plane piloted by a Cuban anti-American orginization was flying around NYC and not responding to radio calls?

Adam Corrolla called Fidel a "ruthless dictator" last night.

Bush still considers Cuba an "enemy of freedom".

And now this?

When will the illogical and over-the-top villification end?

Yes the Cuban government has not made utopia. But it is a democracized worker controlled state. That's bad why?

Exactly, this is an anti-Cuban propaganda site and hence not credible. I’ve seen their stuff posted elseware; it relies on unsubstantiated/unsourced claims, personal attacks and emotionalism to convey its anti-Cuban message.

So now Cuba is a democracy? Fuck no! So if the workes started a little protest, like 20 people, went out to the streets with banderolls and so on and screamd that Castor was an idot and they "want better living conditions" what do you think would happen to them? Do you think the would be allowed to do that? Or would they be shot? Probably the latter mate. ;)

Half of their claims were stupid.

1. Armando Alejandre Jr. – Assassinated . Age: 45. Born in U.S.A. Date: 24-02-96. Location: International airspace over the Straits of Florida. Occupation: Transit Planner with Miami Dade County’s Dept. of Transportation. Vietnam War veteran. Place of residence: Miami, Florida. Description: Shot down by Cuban MIG jet fighters while a passenger aboard an unarmed civilian plane in a humanitarian search and rescue mission for “Brothers to the Rescue.”

Illegal. You can bet that if an unauthorized Cuban or North Korean aircraft were flown near the United States it would be gunned down just as quickly.

9. Carlos Alberto Costa - Assassinated Age: 29. Born in U.S.A. Date: 24-02-96. Location: International airspace over the Straits of Florida. Occupation: Human Resources Administrator at the Miami International Airport, private pilot. Place of residence: Miami, Florida. Description: Shot down by Cuban MIG jet fighters while piloting an unarmed civilian plane on a humanitarian search and rescue mission for “Brothers to the Rescue.”

12. Mario M. de la Peña - Assassinated Age: 24. Born in U.S.A. Date: 24-02-96. Location: International airspace over the Straits of Florida. Occupation: Pilot intern with American Airlines. Place of residence: Miami, Florida. Description: Shot down by Cuban MIG jet fighters while flying a humanitarian search and rescue mission for “Brothers to the Rescue.

Also illegal. See above. "Humanitarian search and rescue" means unauthorized entrance into the country in an attempt to extract citizens.

6. Enrique Cicard – Presumedly Assassinated. Age: 36. U.S. citizen. Date: 09-07-89. Location: Havana. Occupation: Colonel for the Ministry of the Interior in charge of intelligence service. Place of residence: Havana, Cuba. Description: Reported suicide. Notes: His death was surrounded by suspicious circumstances and was not reported in the Cuban press.

Completely meaningless. Not only do they "assume" he was assassinated, they fail to provide any evidence define the circumstances. This is as good as me saying that 9/11 was planned by Bush because things seemed kinda fishy. The fact that he was an infiltrating agent from the United States doesn't help either.

7. Earl Glenn Cobeil – Assassinated

He was in a fucking war.

8. Benito E. Cortés Maldonado –Executed By Firing Squad U.S. citizen by birth. Born In Puerto Rico. Date: 13-01-1959. Location: Santiago de Cuba. Occupation: Policeman. Place of residence: Santiago de Cuba. Description: Executed by firing squad merely for having been a police officer under Batista. His remains were not returned to the family.

Good enough for me.

10. Junior Cruz – Executed by Firing Squad (*Case pending confirmation.) U.S. citizen. Date: 1971. Description: Executed without trial.

Not even confirmed.

14. Matthew Edward Duke – Assassinated Age: 43. Born in U.S.A. Date: 14-05-60. Location: Area near Mariel, in Pinar del Río province. Occupation: Pilot. Place of residence: Palm Beach, Florida. Description: His airplane was shot down by the Cuban Air Force when he flew to Cuba to pick up fugitive Batista army and police officers. Upon landing, he was ambushed and shot to death by Cuban army soldiers. His body was turned over to the U.S. Embassy in Havana.

Deserved it.

15. Robert Otis Fuller – Executed by Firing Squad Age: 25. Born in Lewiston, Cuba and registered as an American citizen in the American Consulate in Cuba at the time. Date: October 16, 1960. Location: San Juan Hill shooting practice field, Santiago de Cuba. Occupation: Former U.S. Marine Officer, veteran of the Korean War. Place of residence: Miami, Florida. Description: Landed on October 1960 in Navas Bay, Oriente province, to start a guerrilla movement with a group led by Armentino Feria. Was captured and sentenced to death by a Revolutionary Tribunal. On February 2003, Fuller's daughter won a default judgment against the Cuban government in the Florida Courts.

20. William Horace Patten Tabares – Executed by Firing Squad Age: 34. Born in U.S.A. (Son of Canadian citizen.) Date: 23-09-61. Location: Guana-baquilla shooting practice field in city of Camaguey. Occupation: Ticketing agent at Camaguey Airport / General aviation pilot for agricultural aerial-spraying applications. Place of residence: Camaguey, Cuba. Description: Landed in Cuba to start a guerrilla movement, was captured, and executed on charges of conspiracy against the powers of the state. Notes: His young wife, unaware he was to be executed, unexpectedly learned of his death on Cuban radio.

What the fuck did they expect? If someone tried this in America they would be labeled a terrorist and gunned down.

17. August K. McNair - Executed by Firing Squad Age: 25. Born in U.S.A. Date: 19-04-61. Location: 5 ½ Prison, Luis Lazo, Pinar del Río province. Occupation: Radiotelegraph operator for an anti-Castro guerilla group. Place of Residence: Coral Gables, Florida. Description: Landed with Marcial Bello in Bahía Honda, Pinar del Rio province, on 21-03-61, to start an anti-Castro guerrilla group. Was captured and executed.

19. William Alexander Morgan - Executed by Firing Squad

Age: 34. Born in U.S.A. Date: 12-03-61. Location: La Cabaña Fortress, Havana. Occupation: Commander in Castro's Rebel Army / leader of anti-Batista's guerrillas in the Escambray mountains. U.S. Army veteran, former paratrooper. Place of residence: Havana, Cuba. Description: Executed for participating in an anti-Castro conspiracy supplying arms to the Escambray guerrillas. HOLY SHIT! I TRIED TO OVERTHROW CASTRO AND HIS TROOPS SHOT ME WTF!?

18. Dan Mitrione – Assassinated Born in U.S.A. Date: 08-08-70. Location: Montevideo, Uruguay. Occupation: C.I.A. agent stationed at the U.S. Embassy in Uruguay. Place of residence: Montevideo, Uruguay. Description: Kidnapped by Tupamaro commandos under the direction of Cuban security agents Miguel Hevia Cosculluela and Cuban Interior Minister (M.I.N.I.N.T.) Colonel Antonio de la Guardia Font; assassinated by them after his interrogation and torture. His body was found in the trunk of a stolen car on 10-08-70. Notes: The Nixon administration refused to negotiate his release.

21. Bill Patterson - Executed by Firing Squad. Born in U.S.A. Date: 06-03-61. Location: City of Camaguey Place of residence: U.S.A. Description: Infiltrated into Cuba, was captured, and executed by firing squad.

Also deserved it. Any country would have done the same thing if they found an enemy agent infiltration. He wasn't "assassinated".

3. Robert Ellis Frost – Killed in combat Born in U.S.A. Date: 18-02-60. Location: España Sugar Mill, Perico, Matanzas province. Occupation: Pilot. Place of residence: U.S.A. Description: Killed In combat when his small plane was shot down by anti-aircraft fire when bombarding a sugar mill in Matanzas province.

Poor guy! Why won't they just leave him be and let him bomb the cuban infastructure!?

Think about what Cuba actually did for Angola, the Cuban military were fightinng against the South African, which did not go so good, well, it was a complete disaster. The only way they supported were with the training of the MPLA guerrillia.

Try reading something or try visiting the island. What you're talking about are bourgeois democratic elections, which have nothing to do with socialism at all.

You're a complete idiot. You should try to read a book or two before you make ludacris assertions. The South Africans & mercanaries were a few miles away from seizing main cities in Angola when the first few hundred Cubans arrived as trainers, they immediately turned into combat units. When the rest of the thousands and thousands of Cuban troops arrived in Angola, they were directly responsible for beating back the South Africans & mercanaries all the way accross the border.

Before spouting off, please take the time to read and learn from the links CompaneroDeLibertad was kind enough to post for you!! [/b]
Ok, take Sweden for example:

There are diffrent parties to vote on (including commie), why is not that better than "one man one vote"?
Ok, I guess I am beaten, I am gonna read that and wait till I make a statement, sorry. Please, dont call me an idot even if I am an idot when it comes to this... I am 16. And yes, this is the first time I talk about politics, and I am gonna check out learning. ;)

My reputaion is doomed for the nest 3 years...

Where I read it says that the Cubans didn't do anything... but okay, maybe they want us to belive that, as well as you want me to belive that. See, it is all about media.

But why would you want a hammer and sickle? You're no communist.

Well, what am I? My parents are "social democrats" which means that they vote on that party...

It is not all about the media, you will learn that there are more credible sources than others to learn from.

Please, dont call me an idot

I never called you an idiot. I asked you to take some time and read the links that were posted for you.

I called him an idiot, because he made false assertions. It's okay if you don't know something but don't assert something if you don't know it's true.
