Has anyone seen the film "Bob Roberts". It has Tim Robbins in the lead role, as a corrupt right-wing politician running for election. Its sort of a comedy slash tragedy and I would highly recomend it.

An awesome movie. That tapping foot at the end was just the best ending possible (in entertainment terms not political obviously).

I seem to remember Tim Robbins directing and writing the whole thing too. Plus he possibly wrote the music in collaboration with his brother (I may have dreamed that last part, by the way).

I found that bit so funny. Not as good as the songs though, especially the songs about doing drugs.

He does seem to do alot of good lefty movies with great casts. Another good film with Tim Robbins is the one about the American National Theatre in the late 30's. I think old Tim may be a closest Commie. ;)

Robbins and his wife Susan Sarandon are members of the Green Party, and both are high profile anti-war activists.

Which in the current American climate, puts them somewhere to the left of Bordiga.
