You list the exploited who are more fascist than anarchist but not Dead Kennedys??
Urban Rubble
13th September 2005, 01:50
Yeah, I was going to mention that. The Exploited are not Anarchists, they wrote a few songs claiming that early in their career, they have made it clear since then that they are no Anarchists.
Same with the Sex Pistols, they wrote a song called Anarchy in the U.K. a espoused "Anarchy" for shock. They were never really political.
Kottonmouth Kings, are you kidding me?
Against Me! is quietly and slowly renouncing the Anarchist beliefs they held when they were younger.
Rage Against the Machine were not Anarchists.
Randy? Come one man.....

I want this confirmed, not just rumours. Is Exploited really fascist? I mean touring with Skrewdriver before they became fascist, doesn't make Exploited fascist.

Eploited, they dont seem facist to me. Most of ther stuff seems quite left wing and anti-establishment. Does the band ahve to be sepcifically anarhcist anyway? I mean why not just amek it generally elftist, because it's not like your going to stop liking a band becuase there marxist rather than anrchist or whatever.

You forgot Assuck!!!
Assuck is a great grindcore/death band which released two AMAZING slabs of grind in their time.

Those are some of their lyrics for some good reading.

Here's a hardcore band of self-proclaimed anarchists.
Now whether or not they're actual anarchists is for you to decide. :P

:o
That really is too bad. They must be one of those types of bands who hold those types of views in private, but don't make it obvious in any of their music.

Birgada Flores Magon
Klasse Kriminale
The Oppressed
The Templars
Banda Bassotti
The Redskins
Fighting Chance
Los Fastidos
Stage Bottles
The Prowlers
Hudson Falcons
Cranked Up
Frontkick
Koratu
Blaggers ITA
Class Assassins
They aren't all "anarchist", but neither are a number of the bands on the lists previously posted. But all those bands are either left-wing and/or anti-fascist.

Randy were more of commies, and Rage i dont think is anarchist, also i thought angelic upstarts were commies or sumthin

Yeah the upstarts are just generic socialists. Probably with trot leanings, SWP was big in the left wing skinhead scene in the 70s before Red Action came around. And RA was actualy kicked out of/quit SWP.

and Rage i dont think is anarchist
Rage Against the Machine was a Leninist band, not really anarchist. Although very far Left, nonetheless.
Quinlan Vos

I don't think Rage was Leninist at all, it's best to describe them as radical leftist, since the band members themselves had differeing political views. Tom would always call himself a democratic socialist, although considering stickers on his guitar and other things I take this to mean that he's a Leninist, but the other band members never really define themselves. Zack, more than anything is allied to zapatismo, so if he's anything he's a "Marcoist".
Against Me! have gotten steadily crappier politically; Randy are definitely anarchists as these lyrics show:
Vaya con dios
Punk rock amigos
I see the dreams glow in your eyes
I see lovers down by the coal mine
I see an empty so called paradise
I see the sun, I see the skyline
I see the sun, I see the light
Let's honour those who died for freedom
Who died struggeling in the fight
Industrial workers of the world, Joe Hill
The days of ?39 when time stod still
The anarchists, the bolsjeviks, killed
In kronstadt
If we unite we can take them
Grab them hard and then shake them
If we unite we can break them
Oh baby! wouldn't that be nice - wouldn't that be nice
Vaya con dios
Punk rock amigos
Oh my loved one my heart of gold
I've seen you walking through arctic winters
Somehow your skin never gets cold
Let's honour those who died for freedom
Who died for trying, who died for life
Who died for living, who died for dying
Who died for trying to organize
Look ma, look what they've done
The sun over Kurdistan is gone
And there's someone up there right now
Taking down the stars
If we unite we can take them
Grab them hard and then shake them
If we unite we can take them
Oh baby! wouldn't that be nice - wouldn't that be nice
Vaya con dios
Senoritas
May this system come to an end
That turns the people 'gainst each other
Brother against brother and friend against friend
They're leaving this town tonight
7:40 on a ray of light
I dreamed I saw you standing next to Angela Davis, baby
If we unite we can take them
Grab them hard and then shake them
If we unite we can break them
Oh wouldn't that be nice - wouldn't that be nice
If we unite we can take them
Grab them hard and then shake them
If we unite we can break them
Oh wouldn't that be nice - wouldn't that be nice

i just e-mailed Against Me! about there political beliefs and heres the answer i got back
While I can only speak for myself on this, I am an anarchist and have never
"re-nounced anarchist thought." I dont know if you've noticed but people
have a tendency to talk shit about us these days. Thanks for writing. -Tom

The only skinhead band I know of who were members of the SWP were the Redskins. Black Britain were also a SWP band but weren't skinheads.

Yeah, but I wasn't reffering so much to bands as I was to RA having come out of the SWP.
