I have read Trotsky biography, and also read superficially some of his works, however I coudn't find a deep analisys from him on such a important process for the socialist movement as the Spanish Republic and the civil war were. Perhaps any of u have read something about it, please guide me.

The Lessons of Spain: The Last Warning (http://marxists.org/archive/trotsky/works/1938/1938-spain01.htm)
One of the more overlooked works of Trotsky but I find it to be rather significant. Its a short but great read.

He supported the republic, but wanted to see a more united Republican movement. He was against guerillaism because it leads to factions and tears apart unity. That is one of the reasons the republicans lost the war.
I think he also feared Stalinist influence in the Spanish government.
