I find the SWP/Stop the War Coalititon (StWC) anti war demos to be repetitive and reformist.

Twice a year the StWC/SWP organise these demos and just walk through central London, co-operate with the police and then everyone justs stands for an hour or so at the end of the demo to listen to a few reformists and liberals, like Tony Benn, Jeremy Corbin, George Galloway, Ken Livingstone and a few others make some speech. These speeches also only appeal to the liberal middle classes as they only ever seem to make out that Bush and Blair are the ones to blame and that imperialist wars only occur when the White House is under the grip of neo-conservatives.

In reality wars and imperialism are the direct result of the capitalist system and war is the physical expression of contradictions within the capitalist system. Of course the main speakers at the anti war demos NEVER make this point, for fear of putting off the liberal middle class and the reformists and populists.

Having said all of this, is there going to be ANY alternative demos or anti war actions on Sep. 24th?

Basically I would be looking for actions that will be organised by council communists and anarchists, as the Leninist parties will all be at the main SWP/StWC event.

Does anyone else on RL feel the same way about this as I do.

If so does anyone want to put plans forward for alternative actions?
