Ok, I'm talking to this Christo-Fascist Baptist at school.

He tells me that all sins are equal.

So I ask him if gluttony is a sin, he replies yes.

I ask is murdering your grandmother via violent sodomization a sin, he replied yes.

So then I asked him if being overweight and sodomizing your grandmother to death were the equal in the eyes of God.

That shut him up.

However, one of my friends that is Baptist and whose mother is overweight was arguing with me, but his own logic was laid out before him... yet they still went on.

Anyone else find nice and to-the-point examples of this?

A good one is "God doesn't exist."

Yeah and you really think that he'll just shut up? Trust me I've come across some real rightwing Christian nutjobs. They'll argue til the fucking cows come home. Those sort unfortunately don't give up :(.

Hmm... coveting someone's wife or stabbing their wife to death with a screwdriver?

Does god not find having "sinful thoughts" about "his creations" preferable to violent murder? Maybe god doesn't care that much about us, could just be about the rules.

Also there is the mortal and immortal sin thing... does that only apply to Catholics?

Agreed.

They're so damn wishy-washy. One more I like is "You will be damned if you killl, but if in Self Defense or in War you can kill and maim all the fuckers you want!"

BASTARDS. What kind of blind idiot follows something that bases their beliefs of writing such as this?

Do you only feel that way because you don't agree with it? If so thats sorta childish.

Not because I don't "believe in it", but because it's total fucking rubbish. According to your logic, babies can come from Storks, the moon is God's thumb nail, and fairy tales are an accurate way of dealing with what we are not sure of.

I'm afraid so.

Oddly enough, the modern Catholic church is actually better than most other churches, if you take away the sexism. I mean, I hate it to death, but they have purgatory, and mortal and immortal sins.

Is this... a grey area!!! For shame!!!

We dont believe that babies come from storks or any of that shit. We believe that it happens through the parents. The moon being God's thumbnail? Maybe that was the belief years ago but we also don't believe in that either.
