Being restricted to opposing ideologies I don't ever have much of a reason to venture to other areas on the forum so I was wondering if any of you have played hl2 (computer game). Did you find it fun, epic even? I did. I'll let some other member on here describe it if somone wishes a description.

Half-Life 2 kicked ass. Amazingly Cinematic gameplay experience.
CS:S is okay. DOD:S and Lost Coast come out this month! Hooray!

Excellent game, excellent engine and hopefully, excellent mods.
The whole thing had a distinct 1984 feel I think, especially the early parts.
Don't like CS or DOD, both are a bit too unrealistic and without the HEV suit excuse.

Best Game on the market right now.

Its ridiculous how many mods have been claimed, but how many are not even released yet....

I really enjoyed the 1984 feel to it. It let you influence and lead a revolution so I figured some of you on here would have enjoyed it. Excellent series from the begining. And yeah there are so many mods 'out' but not really available. Most are still in closed beta and once the 'lost coast' expansion comes out I'd imagine some of the mod projects will drop off completely.

There was actually much 1984 Memoribilia to it. See the oranges and lemons graffiti dancing on the walls? When you first turn a corner early on in the game where there are 2 Combine beating up 2 citizens(it's just before a large stairway that leads up into the sunlight into City17), the female says "They got Winston!".
It's extremely 1984-ish.
Great game, although Lost Coast and DOD:S will kick extreme ass. DOD:S has ironsights + HDR, and LC has HDR. I got a 6800 so I'm extremely excited.

Mods take quite a while to make, especially TC's, which are the majority of what has been announced.

Age of Empires 2... for me, that's synonymous with "wasted youth".
The sequel to that and Civ 4 are coming out! (gasm)
Half Life 2 was good, but I have no ambition to update my computer about $5000 worth to play it. But I did on a friend comp, and it was good.
Not "great".

UT2004: Red Orchetra Mod beats DOD: 2 anyday, RO is the most realistic Eastern Front First person team combat out there.
Red Orchestra (http://www.redorchestra.clanservers.com/)
I also need to get Age of Empires 3, all the memories from the past ones...ahh. :P
Anyone heard of Project Offset (http://projectoffset.com/)? 3 guys somehow made their own graphics engine that is better than any out there.

The only games I play are Sim City 4, Civilization 3 and Tropico. Nothing better has come out since them - atleast nothing that I know about.
I only like realistic games, no alien shit.
Do you guys actually pay for these games? I don't.. only game I ever bought was Rise Of Nations.

RO is one of the best mods I own. If they updated the animations a little it would be near perfect.

I used to play that game every day back in the days of UT2003. It kicked DOD's ass. But, I don't have UT2004, so I can't download it. Oh well, I miss it thought.
Oh well, DOD:S here I come!

Oh man I used to play Tribes, until they came out with Tribes 2. I didn't get that one. But the original rocked so hard, great fun. It's the main reason why I'm so good at Counter-Strike today...

I am banned from most "Cafe of Rabid Snarks" servers because I liked to use their hook mod to go and murder the scientists you're supposed to rescue on that one map.

Half Life 2 was an excellent game. I loved the storyline.
Red Faction is also an excellent (albeit older) game.
