View Full Version : God: Lame in bed?

So I've been hearing right-wing fundamentalists talk about how the hurricane was "washing away the sin" of those filthy heathens in New Orleans. Funny thing is, the French Quarter was mostly spared. Not only that, the suffering corresponded directly with class, so I'm guessing being poor is a sin.
So...you might interpret the retribution theory as saying that God's aim sucks, or that he pulls out too early. I wonder if he gets the same complaints during sex (I may just be projecting, though).

Anything that's a major weapon is considered that from God to the Christians. Even the typhoons that saved Japan way back when they'd take credit for.

When people don’t understand things they jump on the ‘god’ wagon.

I wouldn't compare the hurricane to God being good or not in bed <_<. Actually I dont' think God would kill others just because they do wrong. Oh wait I was thinking Jesus but I think God has better things to do then send a hurricane to a part of the world.

Probably not. Did he have anything better to do when he rained down sulfur on Sodom and Gamora? Did he have anything better to do when he sent the Great Flood to turn that drunken hillbilly Noah into a rockstar? Did he have anything better to do when he sent the 10 Plagues to Egypt?
I'm not a Christian by any stretch of the imagination, but I have had plenty of run-ins with fundamentalists being that I live in the 'Deep South', as it were. They believe in a wrathful, vengeful, Old Testament sort of God. So uh, yeah, there you have it. It doesn't surprise me in the slightest.
Actually, what surprises me is that Pat Robertson or Billy Graham hasn't said something similar yet. (Although I think Robertson is still probably minding his p's and q's since the whole Chavez debacle or he would've been the first to say something.)

Are you really writing a list. I don't get to meet many "fundies" here in Britain. So I always love hearing what the nutjobs think. :)
Please post some.

If that kind of shit entertains you, you'll love these crazies:
http://www.godhatesamerica.com
"THANK GOD FOR HURRICANE KATRINA!!
THANK GOD FOR DEAD AMERICANS!
THANK GOD FOR HIS JUDGMENTS"
"Thank God for IEDs killing American soldiers in strange lands every day."
"WBC rejoices every time the Lord God in His vengeance kills or maims an American soldier with an Improvised Explosive Device (IED). "The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance: he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked" (Ps. 58:10)."
"Pope John Paul II, the Great Pedophile Pope, is in hell. No burning candles, no indulgences, and no prayers to Mary will change that. The new Pope Benedict, Pope of the Great Whore, will burn in hell with him shortly."
"Bloody butcher Bush thinks he can distract from these facts by taking over Babylon with his fag army. As a result of his foolishness, body bags are coming home by the truckload."
"God destroyed the WTC to punish America! Deal with it!"
"The King looks like an anal-copulator, & his grinning kids look slutty & gay!"
-in reference to the Swedish Royal Family.
"God hates you!"

I just love how people who are religious people pray for the victims of their own gods' 'work', and pray that the storm ceases or that things get 'better', ie. that their god stops punishing/harming them,
Logical to the max!
'Believe or DIE!'
*whimpering voice*
'THANK YOU forgiving lord! For all those options.'

Death and destruction = Praise God!
Relative peace and prosperity = Praise God!
Praise me damnit; at least I take observable action! :P
Oh, to be praised for nothing... you wouldn't even have to exist :o

Simple logic can counter any Christian fundamentalist who spouts the "you should fear and serve God for your whole life." Look at it this way:
If you fear and serve God your whole life, you are the equivalent of a slave, hence the "we are all slaves to God" or "to our master" or whatever they're yelling about.
And when one is a slave, one is in a slave-master relationship. This inherently removes all freedom from the slave, as they are at the will of their master. Therefore according to the people, humans are not free, and do not have free will (as they cannot choose, they must obey) (Well perhaps they can choose not to obey, but when offered eternity in the firery pits of hell, it's not really a choice is it?).
Oh, and about Hell. The fucking concept of Hell alone is proof that God is not all-good and therefore does not exist.
Allow me to expand:
The idea of Hell states that when some people die, and they were not 'good' Christians, they are sent to Hell, where they will suffer for all of eternity. Now this could be considered an 'evil' place, and rightly so, as it is the lair of 'Satan', the most evil of all. But note: it is not Satan who sends you to Hell, no it is God who does this, Satan merely carries out the will of God in Hell, and does what he does best, make the after-life the most excrutiatingly painful thing it can possibly be.
Now that we have an idea of what Hell "is", let's ask ourselves: If God gave humans free will, and therefore the right to choose how to live their lives, but punishes them if they do not live it the 'right' way, how is that good? And on top of that, He punishes them as hard as He possibly can, which considering that God is all-powerful, is pretty fucking hard.
So since God can see into the future, as He is all knowing, He knew that billions of people, over the course of time, would not live the good life and would be sent to Hell. And yet He did nothing, just sent some fanatics to "spread the word" while millions burned for eternity. This is not "good"...
Sorry I went on a little tangent there. But there's a simple argument to offer fundamentalists who insist on screaming their hypocrisy (just point it out... :D ).

Or you could just ask Hercules's mother about how Zues made whoopy with her. The description of how she and Mary were impregnated are almost exactly the same, what with the "shower of golden light" and all. Yeah, the Christians ripped that one off, too.
