i've engaged in it, it's pretty fun

i don't really see it as productive OR counterproductive... just another symbolic gesture i suppose, like chanting.

i spose i like it because we keep using the same chants and for cheerleading we actually had to come up with some new ones :P

I find all forms of cheer leading pointless. It only confirms and makes concrete societies vulgar display of something that has very little contribution to society. I think of it as parasitic. Cheer leaders, and all sports are supposed to distract you from meaningful things in life: like helping out your fellow man, and creating a true democratic order.

not even when the cheers are telling you how you can help out your fellow 'man'? and how your fellow 'man' is being oppressed, and what you can do to help in their emancipation?

although i admit theyre not the most constructive uses of people's time

but its the same as leafleting or putting up posters for demos

you hope it reaches someone, at least

I wouldn't really call that cheer leading.

Prsonally I think they sound pretty great. I read some of the cheers on the website, which were highly amusing and obviously well thought out.

I mean who couldn't like:

T and A all th way
canada is not okay
no borders no states
we just wanna masturbate
no borders no states
we just wanna masturbate
we want anal penetration
not canadian corporation
canada sucks corporate cock
global free trade's got to stop!!!!

If it inspires one person who hears it, to look in to the crimes of corporations etc. then it is productive. Sometimes it takes something a bit weird and orginal to gain peoples attention.

hey grrl fuck shit up
revolution and nothing but
we deserve what we need
not table scaps from corporate greed
more than just "equality"
liberation from poverty
no more short term band aid fixes
say hell ya when they call you *****es!!

These are great, I mean who could not like these.
