the guys who sprayed no war in 5m letters on the sydney opera house got out of jail yesterday after serving 9 months in periodic detention. they also had to pay $151 000 to get the paint cleaned off. heroes.

If I found anything like this around here I'd .. eat my hat. The only shit graphs I see around here are "BLOODS" "CRIPS" and other unitelligeble strains of insults and crap. Mostly drawn with incomplete lines or spray or markers. Only good stuff I get to see is on trains rolling by.

ha, these are great, and very talented, if only i could graffiti, i hear its possible to get a license to graffiti in certain areas.

rioters bloc
6th October 2005, 07:07
well you can prolly find 'legal graffiti spaces' where, as the name implies, you can graffiti...legally...

but to be honest i find that takes the fun out of it.

nothing like going on a midnight fugg run [feminist underground guerrilla group] and defacing sexist ads and doing stencils around the place :D

about the legal graffiti spots, do people just cover other peoples work or do they leave it alone. there some good stuff on there and it wouldnt be great if someone really bad at it came along and sprayed over it.

rioters bloc
18th October 2005, 23:15
sometimes people spray over it, just like with any graffiti really

the stuff from those pictures there^ have been up for years now and no-ones sprayed over them yet.

Yesterday on the (2 mile, in the rain) walk home a Socialist Party meeting, I saw a wall that had 'Sleep E(A)T WORK' sprayed on it about 7 or 8 times along its length. I may post it here if it doesn't cost me a fortune to send the pictures on my phone.

Alice in Ganjaland

Yeah, same here, little political activity going on around my hometown. I attempted some a while back but it disappeared the day after :S must have been bad timing on my account (time for a vandalism cover-up) or perhaps they just sent someone out to deal with it. i dunno. The 'everyday i wake up on the wrong side of capitalism' one is great, i might do that somewhere.

It comes from 'In Bloom' by Nirvana. I'm not a big Nirvana fan at all, but I liked the line...

The bankI tagged that is right next to a Wal Mart, and it was seen by a huge amount of people, it's the busiest part of our town... It took em about a week to piant over it.

I saw an awesome stencil in Carlton yesterday. It was about the Libs IR reforms, and it had a big caption that said "Work choices = No choices" and a cartoon of an employer talking to a worker, saying "You're fucked now Bill."

And Bill replies with "Yes, sir."

Awesome. I wish I had a camera.
