I've been wondering what everyone here thinks about Google. They are obviously trying to take over the internet world. I like them because of all of the high-quality, useful, free stuff they have available to people like me. I use some of their products and I use them whenever I need to make a search. If I need to find a specific news article I also use them.

I personally like google, it offers very good services, and that majority of which are free. I think the issue I do have with them is that they do have the power to become a massive internet entity, and can control a moderate portion of the internet. The majority of search engines out there are based on google, and so if google decides to block out a page from its search engine, it could become close to impossible to find. Also they have become extremely good at suckering people into their advertisements which also presents a problem, as now many searches become biased.

Absolutely, they are a corporation. All corporations wish to completely take over all market share... of everything.

When they do stuff, its always high quality, which is a plus.

i see what you mean a good majority of the links are anti communist.

i dislike anything to powerful, yet i use the google serch engine and gmail.
heck i&#39;ve made 60£ from google with their adsense on my old website (took 6 months though)

As a company no, as a search engine yes

Just the internet - but this is the gateway to the world. Hmm...

Google is the most accurate search engine I&#39;ve come across (especially now that Yahoo&#39;s redesigned it&#39;s UK search engine). I haven&#39;t really used other google tools except Google Earth which I find useful.

Profit = Exploitation. The earned income is not going to the workers if it is taken by the company as a whole.
True, but you can&#39;t equalize something like nike exploitation with google exploitation. From what I understand, google employees are computer nerds, who are very excited to be indexing crap all-day long.
