What will happen to the general area around Florida after (If) the devastation, chaos and "waterlog" is over?

How will this affect private investment in the area? It being a very high risk location for further climate related chaos. If private investment declines, will it not impoverish those who may not be able to find jobs?

Wont it drastically reduce property prices in the area?

What is your outlook beyond the clean-up?

Oil prices are going to go skyrocketing most likely (as it usaully does).

The Gulf of Mexico will be ruined. The chemical stew brewing in New Orleans will be pumped into it.

The water will be toxic for decades.

A lot more chaos. Politically and in the community and society.

Politically, its a mess for Bush. Yet again, his government has looked lethargic and slow in the face of trouble and tragedy. They were the same with 9/11 now its the case with Katrina. Its going to take years for the cleanup and normal life to resume and its not going to be easy. More hard times are ahead for the survivors.
