My expirences with debating with advocators of Capitalism and even the smarter ones end up like this; the opponents always seems to talk rediculously fast and they talk over you, even when its your turn to reply.
What I hate most of all when arguing with them is that they will always ask the simplest question when you know that they know your reply but, they seem to assume you wont have an answer for it. What kind of sucker do they take me for?
For example:
Cappie:" If you can't expand capital you won't have an emergency fund."
Me: "An emergency fund has nothing to do with expanded capital, it is a social-program, social-programs in a communist society will be everywhere."
What are your expirences ?
And is this post in the wrong section ?

i dont remember the last time i debated with a pro-capitalist.
Absolute waste of time i found, i'd rather discuss with the working class who have open ears and are open to ideas, and most importantly they are the ones to lead the revolution, not the pro-capitalists.

I rather enjoy debate, so I peridoically debate with pro-capitalists. I've found that the more they are educated on their ideology, the easier the debate goes. So capitalists, however, are blind, idoelogically. These ones are simply not worth debating with.

the opponents always seems to talk rediculously fast and they talk over you, even when its your turn to reply.
In class today, my Global Studies teacher and I got in an argument over whether China was a communist country. I said it wasn't... she made me shut up.
Later in that same class I debated that consumerism is somewhat different than materialism. She made me shut up.
First day of school she told us, "this a safe classroom, where you can say whatever your opinion is."
I can't wait to drop out. :)
However, she did demonstrate everything that those in power do when their opinion is dissented.
They "shut you up". And if they hold no power over you, they do the next best thing, which is to be louder than you.

Damn, Clarksist, what school do you go to? You got pulled out of class for sitting during the pledge, and now this?? I say don't drop out, as long as your teacher's opinion of you does not affect your grades (if it does, tell the principal...maybe she'll get fired). Stay in the class and make that teacher's semester with you a living hell. Fascists like her are quite deserving of such things.

in the forum i used to frequent before this one, EVERYONE was a fucking neo-con [or nearly everyone, and those who werent didnt argue with them]
i always got into massive arguments with them, and it would always be like at least 6 against me. so even though it wasnt face to face id still get bombarded with stupid arguments.
in my uni classes, a surprisingly large number are right wingers, luckily most are stupid tho so its easy to take them down. the ones that are actually intelligent shit me the most because i feel so inarticulate next to them. but heres some examples of stupid, racist, students
"if i was raped by a lebanese man, id report it to the police, but if i was raped by an anglo australian i wouldnt"
"everyones always talking about how we treat disabled people like second-class citizens, but its cos, you know, they are?"
"i think we're focusing too much on the negatives of child labour and child prositution, without like, looking at the good side?"
luckily my tutors are all left wingers though.

its just public school, i got pulled out for not saying the pledge because the teachers husband was in the military  . and i should care why?
i was in a similar situation in my government class. and i always get out about half of what i have to say before the teacher is like, "alright" "ok" moving on. as if what i have to say is kinda outrages, or he doesnt want to go into detail. but meh.

That's how it is in my class.
Schools suck.
But I'm taking my ACT in October, and my GED shortly after... I shall be enrolled in college by next semester.
So... that's nice...

I should probably go to college...
Is it bad that I don't care enough to do anything about it, though?

Heart goes out to those in education I know what you are going through. Be strong and beat them at their own game, you will find that if you have perfect knowledge of rules and protocols, they tend to not bother with you much.
In response to the original topic; Some right wingers are alright to debate with, those that are true theoretical capitalists. Discussion of theory can be quite fun and shows up flaws in sytems, (even Marx wasn't perfect) playing of everysystem against each other gives you better understanding. More is possible when you don't get bogged down in history about (failed) attempts at both capitalism and communism.
Most the time however it is a waste of time. Those that can't understand that their 5th grade critique consisting of human nature and attempts on power could be wrong, often repeat themselves after an explanation, albeit made up of flowery language, is offered.
