If you thought that religion ended at the Flying Spaghetti Monster, or the Invisible Pink Unicorn, you are sadly mistaken. By referral from Complexity, I have been introduced to the way of ....>drum roll< PIE!
Yes that's right, there is now a religion that worships pie!
Site is nyah: www.pieism.tk/ (http://www.pieism.tk/)

We must pay homage to the warm, crusty goodness!

In the past weeks, I have had many requests by email and in person, to make cheesecake a pie. Unfortunately it is not up to me to decide weather or not cheesecake is or isn't a pie. Cheesecake is in limbo. Cheesecake may look like a Pie, having a crust and a filling, much like a pie, but it also has properties of Cake. One example is its crumblyness. Pie does not crumble (with the exeption of the crust) when you eat it. So thus, it may not be a Pie nor a Cake.

It raises an interesting ethical point.

It does actually. I'd never noticed that.

Pie works in mysterious ways

And for some reason you think your version of the Invisible Sky Fairy is any more defensible?

At least pies actually known to exist.

We believe in one pastry, the Pie Almighty, maker of delicious desserts, of all that is tasty and unfrosted. We believe in one dessert, with graham cracker crust, the only wonderous dessert, eternally begotten of the Pie, baker from baker, oven from oven, true dessert from true dessert. Begotten, not baked, of one being with the Pie. Through him all pie crusts were graham. For our hunger and for our salvation he came down from heaven: by the power of the holy oven he became incarnate from the virgin tart, and was made a scone. For our sake he was burnt under Pontius Pielate; he suffered crisp crusts and was disposed of. On the third day his yeast rose again in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into The Great Pie in the Sky and is seated at the right hand of the Pie. He will be served again in bakeries to judge the pastries and baked goods, and his kingdom will have no cakes. We believe in the Holy Spirit of Pie, the Lord, the giver of dessert, who proceeds from the Pie and the Scone. With the Pie and the Scone he is eaten and glorified. He has spoken through the Prophets. We believe in one holy Pieist and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one pastry for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the Scone, and the life of the world to come.

 Fucking hilarious!

Praise scone!

A hard flaky roll like "pastry," often sweet; maybe cinnamon... mmm..

You make me hungry, bastard :P

Scone
A small, rich, biscuitlike pastry or quick bread, sometimes baked on a griddle.

There we go...

What about shepherd's pie? Is it a false god?

Does a pie have to have a pastry top to be a true pie?

Nothing Human Is Alien

Meat pie is absurd. Never the two shall meet, or.. meat in this case..

How the fuck can you call thin slices chips?

The same way the dictionary does: A thin, usually fried slice of food.

YES!

Does a pie have to have a pastry top to be a true pie?

Pie
1# A baked food composed of a pastry shell filled with fruit, meat, cheese, or other ingredients, and usually covered with a pastry crust.
2# A layer cake having cream, custard, or jelly filling.

So it would seem for the most part but not alltogether; pumpkin pie for example, is my god! I really don't care what that site says either, cheesecake is another god! :P

This is amazing. I saw the light, in fact. The only problem is that lemon pie is not considered a good thing, but I better not complain since I don't wanna spend eternity in the Lake of Eternal Cake. Piescal's Wager.

And for all you infidels who hate pieism, you cannot prove pies do not exist.

Also, I can't believe that life and our complex universe weren't cooked by chance. They HAD to be baked by a professional chef, i.e. "the Pie".

4th September 2005, 15:45
You can't disprove the pie nor prove it, so i'm agnostic.

Don't Change Your Name

I already proved to you that I cannot conceive the existance of the universe with it being formed by chance. Therefore, the Pie did it.
