Evo Morales is the most progressive of all.
"The current crisis in Bolivia was sparked by massive popular resistance to foreign control of the country"s energy resources. Bolivia has estimated natural gas reserves of more than 50 trillion cubic feet second only to Venezuela in South America, according to U.S. Energy Department figures. Twenty-six foreign oil and gas companies have 70 licenses to operate in Bolivia. While control of natural resources is a central issue for the masses protesting in the streets, it is by no means the only one. At the heart of the protests are the rights of the country's indigenous communities who say they want not just a nationalization of the country's resources but a nationalization of the government and an end to the exclusion of indigenous Bolivians from the governing of the country".

Good read, okay so he isn't Vladimir Lenin. He still remains the most progressive.

as compared to who?
By that logic Kerry was the "most progressive" in the last election and communists should have supported him(!)

From what I've read, he is unwilling to tell the WB and IMF to go **** themselves. The US ambasador to Bolivia has given him lots of publicity.
It sounds to me like this guy is just as much a tool of the banks as the multinationals are.

Maybe if he does get in he will be forced to act by a mass movemnt. Or he will probablbly just be overthrown like hte last guy.

Hopefully the next time the oppressed masses rise up they will take it all the way!

They need to have a bit more organization. The trade unions said last time that if they had been better oganized they oculd gone all the way.

They need to reject these liberal misleaders and their reformist policies...
Morales, is a prime example, as that article points out.

Why is it that so many people on this forum always denounce people whom are taking a more peaceful path towards socialism? Whether the person be: Hugo Chavez, Evo Morales or Lopez Obrador.
Being the so-called leftists you are, you must want to preserve as much human life as possible (I am speaking of the Proletariat life.) When the workers charge at the bourgeois, there will be unnecessary deaths because the Proletariat is not organized and do not have the necessary weapons to defeat their oppressors. However, when the Proletariat elects a Socialist into office, the president can then create civilian militias and arm the people as well as bring about socialist policies. Don't worry, you blood-thirsty Fascists, you will see the bloodshed you desire when the Bourgeois attempt to retake their position of power. However the majority of the people dieing then will be the Bourgeois.
The defense always has the advantage.

I see what you are trying to say, but the fact is the US would be less of a threat if Kerry would have been the victor. With that said I agree with you that Kerry is a capitalist pig, but one less radical than Bush.

Evo Morales is the best choice because "Tuto" Quiroga is the candidate supported by the oligarchy and the U.S embassy.
Do you remember Gonzalo Sánchez de Lozada (el gringo Goni)? If not, this is the guy ousted by the people in 2003 and now hidden in the U.S. He was the candidate of the U.S and the Bolivian oligarchy. In fact, he defeated Morales because the U.S embassy threatened Bolivia with political and economical sanctions if Evo was elected because he supports the nationalization of oil, gas and water.
I don´t know what will finally happen if Morales takes power, but definitively he seems to be the most progressive candidate.

Morales scares the shit of the U.S. politicians both left and right so he should get our total and unconditional fanatic support.
