Meanwhile the Fundamentalist Christian Right calls for his assasination! Viva Hugo Chavez Frias!
"Only two things can happen in this referendum. Either Chavez remains president or there will be war."
-Unamend Venezuelan supporting Chavez in the documentory "Venezuela: Revolution in Progress;" Discovery Times channel.

Hugo Chávez is doing what Fidel has done for the last 40 years.
The moral authority of the Cuban Revolution was not only based in their own social and political achievements, but in the way Cuba always support the peoples even if their governments are openly against the Cuban Revolution Ex: After Hurricane Mitch (1998), Cuba sent help to Central American countries-Honduras, Nicaragua-after their puppet governments support the U.S against Cuba in the Human Rights Commmission of the U.N.
It´s great what Hugo Chávez is doing, he is telling U.S citizens he has nothing against them. His problem is with the "hawks" not with the people!!!!!

Viva la revolucion Boliviana!
"The primary danger we face in Castro is.....in the impact the very existence of his regime has upon the leftist movement in many Latin American Countries.....The simple fact that Castro represents a successful defiance of the US, a negation of our whole hemispheric policy of almost a century and a half......Cuba, as symbol and reality, challenged US hegemony in Latin America".
-Thomas Patterson
US State Department Policy Planning Council, 1964
Now we have Venezuela added to this "threat." It is a matter of time before capitalism falls in Latin America.

I'm an "American" and I get it. However it is only a minority of us that by virtue of the internet can escape the US propaganda giant. This allows us to see the world through numerous points of view and we can draw our own conclusion. Those who fall prey to the corporate media are the ones you refer to. Which is about at least 85%

which is why if you ever want america to change from the inside you have to convince those people of the truth. I think the best way is through educational entertainment. by that i mean poeple like Jon stewart, and movies like Supersize me. Or kinda like what micheal moore does, but not so full of shit.

Jon Stewart and Micheal Moore are petty-bourgeois liberals. They won't change anything.

You are correct about them. However they do aid in exposing the greater enemy's (Republicans) crimes. They are semi allies as they take shots at the more extreme of their kind.

"The most concrete offer came from Venezuela, which offered to send fuel and humanitarian aid to victims, despite otherwise strained relations with the United States.
A senior State Department official said he was not aware of Caracas' proposal but noted that unsolicited offers can be "counterproductive." !!!

Bush needs to pop his head out of his ass and accept Chavez's offer. However most of us leftist know clearly that there is no way Bush is going to accept his offer.

In a nationally televised speech in Venezuela, President Hugo Chavez said he was prepared to send 2,000 troops to New Orleans
Now that would be somthing big. Two thousand revolutionary militants on-site as the System falls to pieces :D
