POINDEXTER AND KISSINGER - THEY'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING
By: Ed Henry

If knowledgeable Americans were apprehensive about the government
before this, they've now got reason to start shaking in their boots.
We've gone from people you wouldn't buy a used car from to appointing
thugs and evildoers to crucial positions in the new Office of Homeland
Security. Stand by for the storm troopers.

Retired Vice Admiral John Poindexter, the pipe smoking national
security advisor in the Reagan administration will now head up the new
Total Information Awareness (TIA) program within Homeland Security.
This is the new computerized database that will eventually be able to
snoop into everything "free" Americans do, including congregating in
groups of more than two.Henry Kissinger, Dr. Strangelove himself, will
head up the new ten member Independent Commission to finally start
looking into what went wrong on September 11, 2001, and why our
intelligence forces screwed up.

Obviously, to Bush "independent" means selecting someone from the club
or brotherhood. We're in for another whitewash folks, guaranteed by a
man who will do anything to get back into the limelight and the good
graces of the White House.Only those who believe in the tooth fairy can
see this investigation as anything more than a chance for Bush to
reinforce his Homeland Security plans while pacifying the victim
families who have been demanding an investigation. Sure, two or three
low level scapegoats will be found, but that's the most we can expect.

You should all remember the Admiral from the Iran-Contra days when
Reagan was hot for a new canal through Nicaragua, the place where we
should have built across the Isthmus in the first place but got
suckered into taking over the French debacle in Panama and gave Teddy
Roosevelt his famous "walk softly and carry a big stick"
slogan.Poindexter and Ollie North were convicted of lying to the
Congressional Committee investigating arms sales to our arch enemy Iran
in order to raise money to illegally support so-called freedom fighters
in Nicaragua. Freedom fighters that were actually the former dictator's
old National Guard trying to recapture the country they had terrorized
for ages.

These two were both released on technicalities and back room deals
right out of the script of the television series "Law and Order."What
ever happened to Fawn Hall, the blond bombshell who shredded most of
Ollie's records and then walked out of the White House with her dress
stuffed with papers she didn't have time to shred? This was also the
operation where the Admiral and Ollie had Arkansas Governor Clinton's
Mena Airport and Barry Seals off loading cocaine shipments on the way
back from Nicaragua and killing teenage children that happened to
notice what was going on. Making money at both ends "from the Halls of
Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli" (or close enough).

Did you know that Ollie North now owns a company selling security
devices to the government? Isn't love grand? And Kissinger, wow, that's
got to win the greatest fickle finger of fate award. They make dark
movies about this guy. Former national security advisor and Secretary
of State under Nixon and Gerald Ford, Dr. Strangelove has been accused
of war crimes and assassinations from Viet Nam to Chile.

There are a lot of people who blame Kissinger for the secret bombing
and Khmer Rouge takeover in neutral Cambodia plus making secret deals
with North Viet Nam that extended the war by at least four years and
cost thousands of American lives, not to mention abandoning MIAs and
prisoners of war when we ignominiously pulled out. They're still
looking for bodies and prisoners over there.

Re-runs of the movie "Dr. Strangelove" should be playing now, but did
you know that the movie "Missing" with Jack Lemmon and Sissy Spacek was
about an American named Charles Horman killed in South America during
the CIA's covert operation Condor arranged and sponsored by Henry
Kissinger?

To quote Melbourne, Australia's Herald Sun of August 11, 2001:
"Investigators say the US Government knew about and supported the
secret plan, Operation Condor. Judge Rodolfo Canicoba Corral is
investigating whether the government of Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina,
Uruguay, Chile and Bolivia joined forces in the 1970s to hunt down and
kill thousands of suspected leftists.

The possible role of Dr Kissinger, Secretary of State from 1973 to 1977
under presidents Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford, in one of Latin
America's bloodiest episodes has been increasingly in the spotlight
this year.

"Many have believed, and several books have been written about
Kissinger's role in war crimes, comparing him to Slobodan Milosevic,
the Serbian President of former Yugoslavia under indictment by the War
Crimes Tribunal at The Hague.

Do you believe in coincidences? In early September, the family of the
former chief of the Chilean Army, General Rene Schneider, assassinated
in October of 1970, filed suit in Washington against Henry Kissinger
for alleged involvement in the crime.

Schneider was widely considered to be the only man that might have
prevented the assassination of Salvador Allende, the elected leftist
president and also one of the Kissinger coup d'e-tats. Warrants were
issued in early September for Kissinger to testify about his role in a
devastating series of events that led to the dictator Pinochet taking
over Chile and the subsequent deaths of some 3,000 Chilean citizens. On
September 10, 2001, fifteen major newspapers including the Washington
Post carried this story.

On September 11, 2001, eighteen papers carried it. It was the news of
the day before 8:45AM that fateful Tuesday. At the very least, the newly
appointed Chairman of the Independent Investigative Committee is
probably the only person in the country who found something positive in
the attack on the World Trade Center.

No wonder the families of the victims are surprised by Dr. Strangelove
leaping out of mothballs and appointed to this position. And if you want
to look at a pattern of much more sinister coincidence, consider the
fact that the government's scam of ripping-off hundreds of billions in
Social Security and other entitlement money was coming completely
unraveled in the two months before September eleventh.

Months later, when corporate malfeasance hit the headlines and a few
began comparing the private sector's "cooking the books" to the
government's doing the same on a much larger scale, the idea of
attacking Iraq suddenly became the major weapon of mass distraction.
Oh, you don't think the money involved would justify an atrocity the
size of 9/11? Then think of the power and potential loss of power such
exposure represents.

Hail the New World Odor.

Thank you...I was thinking the same thing.

It's amazing how many people I've heard saying " Oh good. See? George Bush is surrounding himself with brilliant people". Americans as a whole have very short memories and somehow in such a short time have completely re-written recent history. Yesterdays butchers are todays patriotic heroes.

If you listen to the right wing talk radio, they are giddy about all of these appointments and committees. I keep expecting to hear the Imperial Storm Trooper theme from Star Wars every time they speak.

A worldwide computer surveillance network was set up a while ago by the NSA, codenamed 'Echelon'. They can moniter certain e-mails that contain words such as bomb, Allah, and that sort of thing. You may think i've watched Enemy of the Sate too much, but is an actual project run by the NSA.
