Led brief uprising in January 1 of 1994. Led a brief war against the Mexican government at that same time. Fights for freedom and equality of Mayan people and all indigineous people throughout Chiapas and Mexico. Wrote various books including "Our Word Is Our Weapon" which includes various writings of the EZLN spokesperson, "Subcomandante Insurgente Marcos", as he is called. Fights Oppression and Inequality.


ˇYA BASTA! (which translaters roughly to "Enough!" In Spanish.) is their "slogan".
