I think that everyone can be a good "communist". We all have social obligations and needs to be thought well of. Only money and materialism get in the way of that. Greed is the obstacle. Remove it and you have your perfect society. Well...theoretically...and theres more to it than that. Love for society is probably a bonus.

At the end of your life, I'm sure you'll know whether you have been a 'good' communist or a 'bad' communist. Until then, just act the way you think a commie should act!

Forgive me for sounding Maoist, but what makes a good communist is criticism, self-criticism, and debate for the correction of ideologies.

I think if I knew everything about everything, communism would still be the solution to alot of problems.

I don't know everything yet, but I'm working on it! :)

To be a communist is to be a social scientist, for Marxism is a scientific method for both understanding class society and uprooting it. And as one of the things that came into conflict with Marxism, and Marxism had to battle it out, was religion, and thus, morality. Again, the Marxist method is a scientific one, not a moral one. I say all of this because I believe that the question has to be answered from an objective point of view. Why? Is it not the goal of revolutionaries the overthrow of capitalist society? Is Marxism not just a philosophy that interprets the world, but aims at changing it?

A "good" communist has to be someone who understands that only real class struggle, the mobilization of the masses for power, is the way to achieve socialist revolution.

A “good” communist dedicates their live to bringing Marxism out of the clouds and into the streets, fighting like hell against the oppression we face. Marxism is concerned with real things, and real solutions. Why else be a communist?

A “good” communist understands that studying and understanding theory is essential, for action with no thought is as useful as a gun with no ammo – the activities of communist is always from the standpoint of how can political power be gained, how to bring defeat to the capitalist and their policies. On the other hand, theory alone is even more useless, and without attempting to act out those ideas there is no way to understand them.

There is so much going on throughout the world, and to be a communist at this moment and not actively participate in the struggles of the working class and the oppressed is to be a “bad” communist.

But thing the question arises, what struggles must “good” communist involve themselves in. And that I can answer, but a wish not to drag on.

Thoughts?

And a 'bad' communist is a -passive- communist? ;)
More like a "neutral" one, or should we say, "none"-Communist.
However, they might delude themselves to be one...
But we all know, a good one is one who help's the proletar's generally,
and the bad one isn't one - at very least - you could say a boss is a
Bad Communist - whenche they mistreat people of classes lower than them.

If not other groups unrelated to classes (directly), such as fag's, negroe's and wimen.

And how is that Maoist, except that it's blatantly Authitorian - tellin' people how to think and act - morals, and a few good pointer's? Hell, in no way! Just re:Nember 're apostrophes around "Good" an' 'Communist', and you'll be all-right, y'see! :P
