"republican" in this context is the same kind of republican as in "Irish Republican Army".

Not to mention Oglach probably means something like "volunteer", and that the IRA calls its members Oglaigh na h Eireann (volunteers of Ireland) or sumthin.

anyways, Mcglinchey, i guess you are linked to the IRSM?

You're correct, Oglach means Volunteer in Irish.

The Republican Socialist Youth Movement is the youth wing of the Irish Republican Socialist Movement. The RSYM is forming right now and we'll have our innagural Ard Fheis in October.

Yes, I'm a member of the IRSM.

I wouldn't charactarise them that way, but that's beside the point. How would I know? I don't know any of the INLA.

The IRSP leads anyway: "Politics in Command".

ah ok well i've always seen the INLA as the best of the Republican Armies, they're sort of like in the tradition of Connoly's Citizen Army.

Anyways what sort of things is the RSYM going to do?

We'll be doing education, mobilising the youth to promote socialism and national liberation, building international solidarity and hopefully energising apolitical types to get involved. There's a desperate need for an alternative now that the Provisionals have become part of the establishement. This is something just waiting to happen. There's a real demoralisation in occupied Ireland right now.

I want to strongly encourage comrades from all over the world to join our forum. We want to build solidarity with fellow proletarians in England, Scotland, Wales and beyond.
