I meet this Italian socialist a couple of days ago on my travels and had a great conversation with him. We got onto the topic of revolution and he told me the best place to start a revolution is inside yourself.
Although I already knew this it still had a profound effect on me when he said it.
I thought I'd just remind comrades that more than knowledge is required to be revolutionary.
Better yourself in every way!
I think this thread would be most useful to be arguement free.
Instead, give some encouragement to our comrades.
Keep on fighting.
Less with 'us', more with 'them'.

Every day I try and do what I can to help the movement. Even though I am the only person involved in this 'movement' I still try to model my self into it. It is my personal war. Perhaps more people will join me. I doubt it. But I am true to my movement. I don't eat Kraft foods, even though that is most of what my parents buy. I don't wear big name brands, except in my shoes and socks that I have had for years. The revolution is occuring in me. I am changing and struggling with my brainwashed spirit. But my Will and Soul are over powering it slowly everyday. Thank you BEL. This will help my private war. I will try to use it and put into our common goal. Nationalistic to Capitalistic Globalizion, Internationalistic to Socialist Hegemony. That is my final goal. Thank you man.

that is neato. Jesus and Che are the closest to revolutionary living within as I could get. For a period in time I was broke, not one dime and I decided not to beg from my family. The days went by and it was the words and actions of Che that became my confidant. I figured if Che could do it, I could do it. I felt good and proud inside inspite of the poverty around me. He infuenced my life in a way that I had to forsake the pursing of a career and a good job, in just a few days my life had another meaning. He truly became a role model for me, I never did get into his end days of war, the ending is always the same.

Very important thread in my opinion.
Indeed, no revolution is possible if it doesn´t starts and keeps strong inside ourselves, feeding it day after day.
I very much agree with tommy: Jesus and Che are maybe the greatest examples of what a revolutionary should be. The struggles we have to go throu in our inner self only we (most) know about it. Only in this way we guarantee our convicitons and ideals are beyond everyday´s influences.

Absolutely. Although I can think and ponder in my head, my own revolution will only begin when I truely change inside. For me, this means becoming a sasquatch, or "old man of the mountains" in some native american language. Right now, even though I think my own way, I am still living the life that I am against. I have already decided to make this change, but this helps me realize how important this step is.

What good deeds have you done lately to further the revolution within you or for others?

A few weeks ago I realised "I'm 15, I can expect to live for 70 odd years, I have 60 years to further communism that's thousands upon thousands of hours selling for the revolutionary press, It's hundreds hours of marching for change, It's hundreds of hours at the barricades and picketing, Fuck! If I persevere I can make a difference, I can change this world!"
It was a huge epiphany for me. Suddenly Gandhi's phrase "You have to be the change you want to see in the world" had meaning, it wasn't just a vacuous mantra. I realised my life had meaning, and thats why you'll never find me with a bullet in my head unless I was tied up against a wall.
-The struggle will continue as long as I am here-

My dear comrades, the revolution starts within, of course, it starts in our minds, it starts from our desire but if we don`t let it out, i we don`t get toghether to push back and wipe out the Capitalist Plague that has spread upon us the revolution will only be in our minds. we can sit around and post replys on the forum all day & all night long but if we rise and speak out loud our thoughts, our whishes, our desires, our needs we will mak ourselves heard, we will truely do something for ourselves, for the People, for Socialism.

I agree insomnia.
The revolution must be strong within though. Otherwise you will bring your personal problems to everybody.
If you unhappy inside, you may try to fix it with fixing something externally(if you have some kind of power).
