Ok as we all know, American 3rd parties never win in elections...so what is the point in voting?
I think us Communist & Socialist need to all start supporting our ruling Liberal party of America.
Notice how the Capitalistic, the Skinheads, KKK, Nazi and what not all supported bush in the previous election?
I think instead of voting for your local yocal who happens to be a trotskyist (I would love to see them win, but lets face it...WONT HAPPEN) then we should start voting Democrat.
Liberal after all does mean Liberal. I think that once America has had a Democrat in office for a significant amount of years, Liberalism will spread and soon hopefully a 3rd party from the left will become a major player in American Politics.

The only problem is that some of the democratic candidates are umm..... questionable. As much as I despise the current president, I really do not think that Kerry could have handled things.

Way I look at it, Lesser of 2 evils.
Once the greater evil is defeated, that leaves the lesser to be overshadowed by its own liberal policys and thus creating a new party system in my philosophy)

You have a point, why support those who wish to opress.
But I just keep my head up, People of america need social security & many democratic things that only they could save.
I dont so much as support them as I do USE THEM.

social security in america is a program that is fit to be worn out soon. your children wont get it, you might not either. the democrats dont give any democratic things to the people, the perpetuate the same cycle as the rest of the capitalists.

Of all of the capitalists that I have lived under (All of three, George Bush Senior, Clinton, and GWB) I disliked Clinton the least (although I wasn't really all that aware during the First Bush's years, I'm told he was a deuchbag, and from what I've read and experienced from his son, those observations are probably correct). Yes he was a capitalist bastard, yet he was the least destructive of them, at least he helped the US economy (albeit by signing free[slave] trade laws). If there was someone like Dean or Gore running for office, I would vote them in (I prefer Dean to Gore but I take what I can get). However all the while I want to help build the local and national union laws to protect the rights of the working man and womyn. If it were between a worker's party member and a democrat, I would vote in the worker. Even on the national level I would vote against the majority, because voting for who you think will win isn't democratic. But if social democrats, Trotskyists, or worker's party members aren't in the race, I'll vote for whatever is closest to my values.

I hate to break it to you guys, but most of the time, Democrats and Republicans run the same line. They often take the same stance on huge issues which affect the public the most (war in Iraq for one).
Dean is different to an extent, compared to Gore, Bush or Clinton for that matter. A vote for Dean is a vote well-cast, as he tends to lead more to the progressive side than others.
But when it comes down to it, I voted Kerry, but only to keep Bush out of office. Too bad...
So vote for your progressives, because any type of communist/anarchist change will only come through revolution here in the states.

Wouldnt it be better to only vote for a democrat in a swing state, because otherwise you might as well vote for teh best candidate as it wont really make a difference who you vote for.
