In the last month, two important countries, Ecuador and Brazil have elected unprecedently far-left leaders.

In Brazil, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and his Workers' Party won by a landslide in late October. On November 24th, another pro-Chavez, pro-Castro ex-military colonel won the election in Ecuador against a billionaire banana owner, the richest man in Ecuador.

Long live the workers and popular struggles of Latin America.

e o melhor

uma festa popular... do povo.

Abraços...

Lula and Suplici (of Sao Paulo) are both of the Workers' Party and the most leftist in Brazil. Lula's first attempts as president will be to establish a commitee to overcome the hunger and starvation in Brazil. After years of an opprerssive right-wing dictatorship ('64-'8?), this shift to the left is what Brazil needs. All latin Americans are obviously tired of America's bullshit. Regarding, Ecuador, I don't know, but would like to know more.

Lula camandava varias greves nacionais nesses anos...
Foi preso por subversao...

olha só.... agora é presidente.

I share comrade Jaha's caution. Let's keep the champagne on ice for a while and see what these folks actually DO before we celebrate.

Hi everyone, this is my first post, My name is Tito and I'm from Panama.

Well, comrade Fabetz language is portuguese, not spanish, but it's kinda familiar to spanish anyway, he sais people is happy with the victory of President Lula in Brazil.

The new and flamant president in Ecuador is Lucio Gutierrez.

You will see, soon our great latin american countries, little by little will be turning to the left, keep an eye on Argentina!
